How many machines have you had over your lifetime?

"only" 25 that I can remember. That's not counting multiple units of the same model.

Have about 30 now.....

Was on the phone the other night with a friend, He used to work with Compass, Garrett, D-Tex and maybe a couple others.

He was saying, he had 500 plus units back then. I'm guessing, For those seriously involved in the hobby 100 plus detectors was common.

I lost count with my collection, just know it's up there.

Not nearly as many as i would like. From first to last, Bounty hunter junior, bounty hunter quick draw ii(Piece of junk, got replaced with), Garrett Ace 250, Garrett AT Pro, and a Metrotech model 220a. I have all but the bounty hunters currently, and a wish list of roughly 20 more I want to get.

Yup, really like mine, probably the apex of analog goodness, only thing is, not very good in the iron even with a smaller concentric coil. BUT if you add an IDX Pro that is modified by Mr. Bill, you had a terrific duo that could share the same coils.

Probably 100 + in the last 25 years...Years ago a bunch of us traded frequently...I sure learned a lot along the way.....Now have a mint Explorer XS and GTI 1500 and may leave them go if my wifes bad health continues as time in the field has been limited. Sure had a good 25 year run and no regrets.

I thinks this pretty much sums up my list. Many of these I sold to fund something else and then bought back later. For example, I have had 4 Tracker IVs, at least 5 DFX's, 5 Cortes, 4 CoinStrikes, 3 Gold Strikes...etc. Some, like the Xterra 70 and the QXT I tried several times because I couldn't believe how bad they performed for me while others gave them glowing reports. The only real dog in the whole bunch was that BH Sharpshooter II. And there are many I have no interest in, like the Dues, or the CTX or the first Racer.

It all truly gets to be an obsession, could even say an addiction at times. Besides all this, I have been blessed to have been involved with the development of the T2, F75, F75 DST, F75 LTD w/DST, F5, Omega, Eurotek, Eurotek Pro, F19, F11, F44.

Perhaps Jesus will allow me to learn about some others...The Golden Mask 5 looks interesting, as does the Bekut-5 and the Racer 2. And who knows what is on the drawing board for 1st Texas Products.
