RACER PRICE CHANGE
June 02, 2016 06:58AM
Dear Valued Customers:

First of all, we thank you all for the increasing sales of our Racer series detectors.

As you all know, Racer 2 is an addition to our current Makro product line up and we have no intentions of discontinuing the original red Racer.
As a matter of fact, for those customers who do not need the extra features of the Racer 2, the original Racer still stands as a very good performing hi-end detector.

Many of our dealers and customers have been asking Nokta& Makro for a device that would retail around the $500 price range..
Therefore, as of June 1, 2016 we changed the price of the Racer as below to meet this request.
We believe that the new price change makes Racer absolutely the most competitive and attractive product in that price range!

RACER STANDARD PACK
SUGGESTED RETAIL $499

RACER PRO PACK
SUGGESTED RETAIL $699

Thank you!

This is nice but giving dealers a heads up would have been nice. I just paid way too much for one on trade thanks to this and what about those that have them on a self still new?

Hello! We did give the distributor a heads up. We do not have direct contact with the dealers, the distributor does.

They must have missed the memo as they still have old pricing on there site. One would think they would have updated it yesterday at the very least. Oh well, no biggy for me but the big guys will not be happy.

Certain other US manufacture has given dealers direct heads up for price changes in the past in coming in future.

We would have no problem sharing info with the dealers directly.. need to check with the distributor.

Hi,,,Realistically I would expect most dealers should be selling these below the retail price but this is usually not the case....I'm waiting for the R2 to drop in price since the Impact is coming out very shortly...........JJ

Publicly dealers can't advertise below MAP. If your dealer doesn't offer a better price privately than MAP consider a new one.

At the new MAP price, any dealer with Racer's on the shelf will barely break even if selling at full MAP price. I haven't had one single request for a new Red Racer since the R2 came out. This price change may change that though. Competition in this price range is only going to increase soon.

Racer 2 price will not drop with Impact launch.

There are not many detectors that can match the racer 1. I did head head hunts with the racer 1 and the deus and it never had a problem hitting the same targets. But with this new price you guys are going to really sell a ton more units. And no company will be able to offer anything close for the same price. And the coils are the best part, they are deep and work well in iron and other types of ground. Some other companies are going to try and compete but only with the price...It's performance that makes the racer great

Not sure who your Makro distributor is but my distributor has the new prices listed once you log into the dealer section.

Well yes of course now my post was early in the AM, Steve. They changed about 30 minutes after Dilek contacted them with an email to follow a couple hours later. I'm not convinced they knew. But its all moot now.

The ham radio market does the same thing.
Sells a new radio for one price then a year later comes out with improved version 2 and drops the price of the original.
Kills the trade-in value and sticks it to all the buyers of the original version.

I would never but a new radio or detector until few years have passed for the bugs to get worked out and the new improved version is released.
Just got around to picking up a used Deus and a CTX 3030 both for a great price.
Racer 2 was on my list but not for this year.
