TNSS,
Gaines Creek is about hunting in huge tailing piles. Lots of trash and disturbed ground. As I mentioned, VLFs do well in disturbed ground and, of course, in the trash. Not so good in mineralised virgin ground like most of the SW US.
Don't want to jack this thread anymore than it already has been. The VLF vs. PI subject has been discussed on DP.

I realize that.

Lots of Vlf detectors would have found that whopper of a nugget.

Besides,,a lot of gold found is real small,,,vs bigger.

Yep, I agree, VLF's will never work as well or In as many places as a PI machines, and they do have limited use in such areas. For hotter ground I do own the TDI SL and a ML, PI machine too, And I am not trying convince the world that the MXT is the way to go,

So Keith are you saying the Relic is the one for me, because I was leaning towards the Gold +, I must admit I have wanted the Relic for a while now but I have been holding off because of the confusion between the two units.

Here's a Video I did of the Fors Gold + on nuggets...jump to the 30 minute mark to see those test.. [www.youtube.com]

The FR will be slightly hotter in Di2 on those same targets..Disc mode Vs Disc mode of each..

in allmetal there the same just the FG+ has iSAT..BUT not a real deal breaker the SAT speed on the FR will be somewhere in the middle of the iSAT Range setting of the FG+ and that's usually where you run it anyways I found..
