Ever used a concentric coil on a Minelab Etrac or Explorer?

I'm only aware of one concentric coil for the Etrac and Explorer. It is a Detech Excelerator, which from photos appears to be about 8 inches in diameter.

What advantage, if any, will this coil have over the typical double D coil used on FBS machines?

Well a concentric will tighten up the discrimination of any machine so If it would work I think it would be a Dream come true when coupled to a machine like that.

From everything I ever read about that coil, people weren't really keen on it. There was a guy in Pennsylvania supposedly making garage concentrics for FBS but it's been years and years now.

They made the same coil for the Sovereigns also. I tested it with my GT and Elite and found that I had to turn the sensitivity way down or run it in auto otherwise it was to hot in my ground at least. I couldn't get the depth of the Sunray 8 inch or tornado 7 1/4 coils. Might work better in less mineralized ground.

Kellyco (at one time) sold them.----Don't think they went over very well---FBS detectors are designed for DD coils.

Yes true and the Pro Coil by Minelab is hands down the best loop for those machines.

I like the 13 " ultimate..a lot more than the Pro coil
