Top pic is a gold half sovereign mid 1800's
Second is a King Edward penny, end of the 1200's
And a Elizabeth sixpence 1576
The silver hammered are rare around my area, finds from the 1600 onwards are more common as during this period the country was 'planted' with people from England, Scotland and wales, so there's probably more chance of finding later period gold coins than hammered silver!

Would love to hunt where you can dig some hammered silver or a few gold sovs now and then!

Great finds guys! I would love to have access to the older sites like you.
Some day I'll make the trip..
Until then Im having fun and having my best year yet.
Almost all the finds are from public parks in my area that have been hunted heavily
for many years. Maybe 10 to 15 of the silvers are from private yards.
My most valuable finds of the year so far are my key date 1921 D Mercury Dime, 1895 S Barber dime 1931 S Wheat Penny and probably my early Eagle Scout Ring.
I have found quite a few key date pennies this year and a lot of them are in real nice condition.
Most of my detecting has been done with the CTX 3030.
Other detectors used for these finds have been the
Makro Gold Racer - Racer 2 and X-Terra 705.

You all have had some fun out there, very nice coins. ghound, to have the chance to unearth a 1200's coin is great! Cabin Fever that looks like some of the saves from years past when silver was found on every hunt...great job this year!

Sweet save guys
