Nexus Credo

Ordered a Nexus Credo, hoping it will be the tool for clearing up some areas behind the GM5
Looks like a real powerful detector, the advertising blurb says it gets an English sixpence at near 12" in ground, if it gets anywhere near that ill be astounded, I'll do a couple of videos, should be fun!

I reckon you will be rather impressed with that detector,i wont mention any depth figures or anything like that but when it arrives try it along side your GM5,me reckons you will be a very happy chappy winking smiley

Cheers Junk, I'm hoping it's deeper on coins than the GM5, and i can use it to pick up what it leaves behind, should be good on the quieter sites also.

Have just tested a 1928 silver sixpence and messaged you the results lol

Have heard about Nexus depth for years. Never tried one though as seemed pricey at the Time.
Re: Nexus Credo

This is what i get with the GM5 with 10" coil in my ground i lose 25% at most, so the sixpence @11" in air comes roughly 8.5" in ground which is pretty decent, going by the numbers Junk messaged me, and assuming the same 25% loss, i might be seeing 2"+ over the GM5 with same size coil which would be outstanding!

Yep that's not too Bad at all, The Nexus is a True... Professional Metal Detector, Every Brand has what they "CALL" professional Detectors, But they are really Not quite right, In the VLF World The Nexus SE type machines are more of a step up like the ML GPX 5000 series are to the PI machines, and being a VLF I think that you just can't compare them to anything else on the market regardless of who makes it, There is just No Way can you Class the Nexus in to any particular group. I think they are more suited to Pro Surveying of sites than any thing else because they are that Good, Some machines might get better depth on the Very ODD occasion but the Nexus seem to have Peak performance 90-95% of the time.

When they first came out the SE was around £1499.95 when you compare that to an Explorer @ around £699.00 and the GP-3500 was £2700.00 OR £2200.00 for Cash. And another thing good about Nexus is they have not doubled their prices, So you are getting all that Machine for around the same Price, How can you not Love That, when the Etrac is £1198.00 and the F-75 has gone from £499-£549.00 to £999.00.

Now get ya Wallet Out and Buy the Bloody Thing and show us the Treasure grinning smileygrinning smiley cool smiley

John.

To be fair to Fisher (and cousin Teknetics), the Standard F75 (and the T2 Classic) have had their prices cut recently, the Fisher can be purchased for £595
[www.uneartheduk.co.uk]
And the T2 Classic is a competitive £440.
(the Special/Limited Edition versions are still excessively priced, I think)

The credo is sure a specialist machine, they are not machines you can just pick up and get great results with until you learn to set them up spot on and fore sure keep an ear on the ground balance.
You can run them in auto and find the goods but a good manual setup is crucial.

The audio is one of the best I've heard and you need to learn the LED for sure as that is key to success and dig all one way signals.

Very good machine indeed but you need to be patient and then it will reward you.

I love mine and will upload the Test Series video at some point.

Good man Aaron, i enjoyed watching your vids on the Credo, be interesting to see how it gets on in your tests, im guessing it's not super fast or the best out there at separation, but it should be good at getting deep.

I found them for sale at the price I quoted but the price hike put me off because the F 75 has had it's trouble and I think they have had 6 or 7 new boards, But it is one machine that I have always thought of buying,

Looking forward to your results with the Credo. Looks like a great, deep machine.

@ghound,has that Credo arrived yet ?? look forward too your initial review, have been in contact with Georgi about a new MP for a christmas present with the 13'' and 7'' coil, should cover almost all of my detecting needs from just one machine.
Re: Nexus Credo
November 14, 2016 09:50AM
Junk, it's being delivered today.
Are you getting the updated MP, it looks like a serious machine!

Yes mate, the one that was released as from September this year, the 13'' coil and the 7'' coil should about cover most of my detecting needs,as i understand it he is also working on a dual 20'' coil for the machine, probably add that as well winking smiley

New detector arrived, fun time!
Re: Nexus Credo

I've been out testing the Credo, holes at 8"-10"-12" in undisturbed soil small and large coins.
Re: Nexus Credo

Cool..... Remember a lot of info is DDM meter, look forward to hearing your thoughts.
Re: Nexus Credo
November 15, 2016 02:26PM
The Credo is a powerful detector when it's turned up full boot Aaron, the GM5 is no slouch on the small coins in poor ground and my fav detector down to the 10" mark.
Just wish i had the 18khz coil for the Credo, it would be a weapon!
Re: Nexus Credo
November 15, 2016 03:24PM
That's what I thought and want to try the 18 kHz coil, I think it would turn it into a beast as such, I've found some small enough stuff with the 7 kHz but just feel it would benefit by the 18 kHz coil big time all round.
Re: Nexus Credo
November 15, 2016 07:28PM
Well i killed a couple of hours today digging a big hole, then drilling small holes into the face of the big hole !
My main want from this machine is to follow behind my GM5 after it has sucked up all the non ferrous to it's useable depth and discrimination.
Anyways the Credo has some serious power, loads of switches and knobs to keep you guessing if you have the correct setup, because if you don't have the right setup you won't get the best depth or performance from the machine, this became very clear early on.
Initial thoughts in the short time i had are it punches deep, proper deep, im not going to post depths till i double/triple check it as im only getting used to the machine but it's close to the manufacturers claims, handles the poor ground better than i thought, smooth and very stable at full power.
Ultra light and balanced, you wouldn't know there's a coil on it, didn't like the coil ears which look quite thin, middle stem has a rivited section which looks amateurish, it has the same 10 battery cartridge as my GM5 so are interchangeable and can also be charged with the Golden Mask charger, seems like they are a perfect combo!
I'll post a vid when I'm confident my settings/results are repeatable, though if you have poor ground i think you'll be suitably impressed!
Re: Nexus Credo

@ghound,wow,great initial 1st review, these machines do have some real serious depth too them, really look forward to your video/s on how you start unlocking its true potential.
Re: Nexus Credo

A bit of an update.
With the rubbish weather I've not got much field time, I've been messing about with settings and trying them out in my garden between showers. I should have checked the ground i had drilled the test holes in beforehand as it turned out to be highly mineralised, it ground balanced 17 on the GM5, normal ground is 35-80.
Anyways it still done really well on the 3 holes i drilled at 8"-10"-12"
On a victorian silver sixpence, 19mm dia it hit clean @10"
Edward silver hammered penny, roughly 18mm dia clean hit @10", both 10" coins at full sensitivity.
Elizabeth silver sixpence, 25mm dim clean hit @12"
Victorian penny, 30mm dia clean hit @12", both 12" coins could also be got at 3/4 sensitivity, probably have no problem getting the Victorian coin @14" with max sensitivity.

A few air test results in disc mode, knocking out small nails, full sensitivity.
Victorian penny- 20"
Victorian silver sixpence-16"
Edward silver penny-13"
Elizabeth silver sixpence-17"
Gold half sovereign-14"
Victorian silver threepence-13"
US Dime-16"!
I don't know why it hit the dime so well, I'll need to try a few more US coins!

More to follow.

Your right there Aaron, the threshold is real smooth, i had a pair of the TDK wirless headphones on for the air test, you could add a few inches if you wanted to chase the more quite whispers but in this ground it would be a challenge lol

@ghound,those are some really impressive figures, the Viccy silver sixpence @16'' that is very good, really pleased that is giving you some extra depth.

Cheers Junk, im well happy with the results in probably the worse ground im going to encounter. Just need to learn how to hunt with it now lol
