You guys asked for more videos, so here's the first one - MX Sport vs. Iron

Do all dealers have the current or updated/proper MX SPORT as what is used in this video?

That was pretty impressive. Have you got the modulation working any better?
Re: MX Sport VS Iron

Lol, Love the Wire Brush test.

I want to see if after having the Fixes done if the MXS can signal like it does here in all the other modes, because I have seen videos where it seems to be making all sorts of sounds and signals to late etc, If it works like yours is doing here then I would Buy one in a heart beat,

With my machine that I am not allowed to mention I would like the MX Sport to signal more positively like my one does then if it does then I will buy the MXS.

Thanks Tom Good video.

John.

I posted a few weeks ago that the MXS did quite well on the Monte nail test. I'm happy.

Some folks don't like it when I mention a certain Machine, So it's best not to just to keep the piece.

Because he has a super MXT that leaps tall buildings in one bound and does things that no other MXTs are allowed to do. lol

No I just have an Excess of Coils that Allow it to do better than most and there again I have invested over 6 years in learning how to get the best out of it, and not watered down my learning by chopping and Changing from one machine to another,

Well I have tried many Nail Tests, Medieval Coinage is a lot harder to detect and Roman Minims are even harder because they vary from being 1/4" to about 5/16ths and weight between 0,3 grams or 0.010 ounces to 7 grams or 0.024 ounces, So I figured if I am finding those then I am not missing too much, But all my Machines are Gold based Detectors.

I have tested many types of clad coins with Roofing Nails with large heads and I can hit the Coins every time, The tiny Roman minims can be a problem some times but I would expect that because you can fit 7 of them on top of a US 1977 Quarter

With all this dropping and crashing the MXS.
John slowly starting to appreciate it's flavour.
Vids being posted showing off how it does allright.

I'm feeling we can honestly start to say in Crocodile Dundee style:
"That's not a detector, THIS is a DETECTOR!"

Keep up the good work guys,... you will make me a buyer yet. I'm longing for a waterproof, crashproof VLF that can kick A€&!

I was waiting for him to put the quarter UNDER the wire brush or, put the nail next to the quarter, not touching,,, or, some serious 3d tests nail above the coin about an inch or so.

I can do that. What brand of nail? Any particular year of quarter of mint preference?

We have reworked every unit that was returned so far. Open communication with dealers/distributors about the situation, but I have not physically visited each of our 1,000+ dealers across the US. Judging by the amount of returns we are getting right now (very slow), all is well. I would say if it is an active dealer who carries stock and knows the hobby/machines you should be a-ok, but if I'm wrong White's will take care of you.
Re: MX Sport VS Iron

Great Video. Shows the potential for certain situations. Notice the drop in VID due to the quarter being influenced by the iron. I think the lowest I saw was 69 averaging around 76. The key thing here is to be aware that this happens and a silver dime might read like a penny if mixed with a lower conductor.. I observed this effect many times during that massive hunt I posted a few months back. Where my CTX would read a penny and a nickel combined in the mid 30's. This happens with any detector. Just be aware.

I imagine the smaller 7" coil would be the coil most people would opt for when seeking out iron contaminated sites. Would be interested in seeing a video with it doing similar tests in the iron. That's still pretty good for a 10" coil.

Thats to bad all the issues, so if someone buys one new for 750 then they try it out and its junk and then have to spend another $40 to ship it to whites for repair?? No thanks To bad they cant nail down which ones out there still have issues.
Re: MX Sport VS Iron
November 15, 2016 02:58PM
Mine and my buddies was free to ship back....I just did it to check it out.....Two week turn around(Makes Minelab look like ...well.. I will be nice)....Easy as can be!

Whites have said all along that they would pay in full for those who are not satisfied, I was under the impression that all the issues have been fixed.
Re: MX Sport VS Iron
November 15, 2016 03:42PM
Yes Whites is providing a paid UPS shipping label back to the factory for the repairs. So all you are out of is a little time and that's all. Ours took about 2 weeks total time...most of that was on UPS transit time going to/fro. The total time from when Whites received the detector til a shipping notice is sent for its return...was approx 2 business days.

By comparison, Minelab is currently on a 30-40 day waiting period for repairs at their Illinois center...and that's not counting transit time.

White's pays for shipping both ways, not sure where you got your info from! We have all the bugs worked out and you should be able to buy with confidence from any reputable dealer.

Whites have been saying that very same thing since June/July, So I don't see any problems from start to finish.

Thanks for the video. Well presented and good format. If anyone does a video of the new ones air testing modulation "on" please message me a link. I'd like to see if it's more granular at the deeper depths or a stark drop in the last 2 inches like before.

Here is graph to explain. Before it was like volume went from 100% to 20% for the last 2 inches of detecting depth. No gradual drop just a big drop and then drop again to zero. I'm hopeful the new firmware has a more gradual volume decline over the last 6 inches?
