Anyone know what ever happened to the Adonis Titanium??
January 05, 2017 06:09AM
I was really waiting for this one and it disappeared about as fast as it came..Even had alot of ads in magazines for it about a decade ago..

I was excited to no end..then NOTHING!!

Sounded too good to be true then...gues that still holds true...LOL

"The detector that everyone has been expecting finally arrives next January :

*ADONIS* is the first pulse induction metal detector that comes with a
real discrimination.

Thanks to the Pulse Induction technology, it is possible to unearth
large targets buried at almost 80 cm without being disrupted by ground
effects. In addition, the ADONIS remains as efficient on smaller targets
(such as 1cm-wide-coins and small relics) as the best VLF detectors
available on the market. It can be turned into a ground radar with an
extension package to be released during the first semester of 2007.

Our company manages one of the 2 best selling metal detection magazine
in France: LE FOUILLEUR as well as “la boutique du Fouilleur” which
takes care of specifically of our metal detectors branch. Our internet
portal/forum is the largest French speaking internet site dedicated to
metal detecting with 2700 new visitors a day www.lefouilleur.com

Our detectors all come with a one year guarantee. The selling price in
Europe will be 1599 euros.($2000.00 US)

In the coming months, a significant ad campaign will be launched in
magazines and on several websites. A TV show dedicated to metal
detecting will feature the ADONIS in France in the coming weeks."

Company [www.titanium-system.com] that planned to make the detector vaporized in 2007-2008.

Evidently it couldn't live up to the pre-sale hype.

And I wonder what happened to/with Dave Emery.....and his Pulse-Devil.

I think that question Tom is on alot of our minds...He touted it and touted it for years even had some WORKING supposedly prototypes...then GONE...

Even had people saying on the forums they saw it running and it worked..

Decade later nothing...

As far as I can determine, this detector was launched in late 2006 with great fanfare but was withdrawn by mid 2007 due to issues with performance.

Keith's post got me curious and I managed to figure out that the developer was Alexandre Tartar in France. Since then, I poked around on the web and found out some info on what he has done since then. There have been a series of developments called the Manta - or Aquamanta. Almost everything is in French, but if you use the Chrome. Browser, it will translate. The machines looked really interesting - discriminating PI detectors for the beach.

Fast forward to the end of last week. I had called someone at First Texas to ask a few questions about the AmeriTek program. The conversation got around to when FT would deliver on their much rumored new technology. Of course, I got nothing concrete - I didn't expect that.

Imagine my surprise when - as he started talking about the strength of their engineering team - he mentioned that they had recently hired Alexandre Tartar! Wow.

That tells me a lot. We have all wondered when FT would bring out PI detectors. Looks like that day just got closer.

Alot of truth in that story,'Manta project' is the keyword here and of course the vital knowledge from Alexandre Tartar winking smiley

Here's a link to his linkdin page - where it says "Physician" - I think he means "Physicist" - the French word is "Physicien".

The reason the Manta is no longer available is because FT are the new owners smiling smiley

Apparently the Manta never actually reached production, the existing ones were all essentially prototypes from what I could see. Having said that, I would bet that Alexandre's going with FT was a sort of "acquihire" where his existing designs, etc would have been part of the deal - just guessing of course, but that's how the "big boys" in high tech do it.

Yes, we've hired Alexandre. Yes, we are working on PI. I was personally working on PI before hiring Alexandre, but now we are seriously working on PI. smiling smiley Sorry, cain't say much more about that, and cain't offer up any ETA's, mostly cause I don't know myself.

If a machine ever came out that could rival the gpz 7000 for depth, I.D accurately had a reactivity adjustment worked well in any ground including saltwater that wasn't small gold dead I'd get one as fast as I could. Could always turn down sens for places you dont want to dig deep but it would be nice having the extreme depth for when you need it. I know if we ever see a machine like this it would be quite expensive but right now I have $14,000 in machines and accessories so even if this machine was $5000 and could replace all my other machines I'd be in. I really wonder if the next generation gpz will be able to have true disc without losing depth I'm still not sure what that zvt tech is, it's not pulse it's not vlf? I really think First Texas products is gonna shock us within a few years, the engineering team they have is outstanding, that's a lot of brain power there.

When someone comes out with a machine that makes ALL others obsolete they can name their price for sure! I am not that confident I'll see it in my life time. I will be happy to see a nice step forward combining strengths of existing tech- depth and discrimination in a light waterproof ergo design. And, Santa, at about $500, okay?
