Good relic machine suggestions

My brother is looking for a good relic machine in the $550 range. He is not interested in coins at all. He has only hunted with me on occasions, mostly using a Tesoro Bandito, but is now interested in going with me more often and would like to have his own machine. He is looking for something that will be hot on buttons, etc. Also he would like for it to have a meter. Any suggestions?
