I'm really liking the sound of the GenD mode. Can't wait to see videos on it.

Now there is also a Gen (D) mode..and this one is where i was caught way off guard..I was actually taken back...WHY?? Well it is this a threshold based general search mode...BUT and that's a BIG BUT... You can add disc to it but its not a combined type mode.

On mine I can not add disc to the Gen (D) mode only the Gen mode. Was this a typo?

No SInce October I've been using Discrimination ability on my Impact in GEN(D)

and through every version its always been there..

Got to that mode and set your tone break to your liking...

now where ever your tone break is the threshold will go low and anything above the setting will go high..

its the threshold waiver

that's why I say it's very UNIQUE..

I was blown away by this mode since day one..

Ok, I was thinking you actually set some discrimination under the disc menu......Learn something new every day.....;o)

Thank you but I will take only 50% of the credit for my team..the other 50% goes to the valued testers and the members of this forum who feed us with these valuable requests and feedbacks and support us in providing better products. Like they say, it takes two to make a marriage a success.

Would still like to see us be able to assign our own tones to each program not preset tones....

Dilek, is there anything requested that you cannot or will not program into the Impact? What are the limits? Just curious.

You can assign them in two or three tone mode.

Just not 4 or 99..

Sounds good Dilek!!!

Great that y'all are DOING as we go..

Think about when hundreds of them are in the field and there seems to bea large majority asking for something..If it's doable Alper can dial it in ..Very ingenious..And very much the future..

Thanks

I think some real in depth videos are going to go a long way in promoting the Impact.
It's easy to get lost in all the details through out the different threads about this detector.
I can't wait to see the Impact in action because I will not be able to make a purchase decision
until I see and hear it perform and also have a better grasp of all these modes.

When you come out of Two tone mode Bryan the other tones modes are alot alike that is 3/4/99 ..

I say that in terms of response..

the Two toine is the zippy sparky hyper type feel with a lot of VCO..Think T2 2+..

The other MODES are basically Tone Modes with more beep less vco..still VCO but more Tight ..more beep less buzz..

There's two motion all metal modes and two non motion..

It's really not that hard ...there's only a FEW Disc MODES and a few tone options that look intimidating but there not..Its the menu structure...where as a F75 may have tone as an option to any process mode..the Impact uses predetermined tone modes as a sort of Process in certain cases..

there's no hidden menus so everything is in your face...

there is some way's to turn things on or off through trigger pulls and down buttons and such but the modes and tones are right there not hidden..

Keith how is the mixed mode on the Impact? Does it do anything like on the DFX?
Re: The Impact as I see it from field use

Alot like a MXT in relic mode, when the Impact is is Gen mode with disc added

YET the GEN(D) is unlike any to date ...very UNIQUE..threshold changes to conductance..winking smiley

I have never run a MXT. On the DFX using mixed mode using VCO, I do not have to pull the trigger to get a high pitch squeal from any metal the coil gets close to, and still get the high pitch beep over a good target.

Hi Keith i cant find any reference to iMask in the Nokta Impact manual did they remove the feature ?
Re: The Impact as I see it from field use

I think they labeled it iSAT only to stop confusion...

When I first got the Impact I was told the display would always say iSAT even in disc mode but it dually controlled the Sat in all-metal and Mask in disc..I requested it needed to be changed on display to show this but maybe it was not possible so they just stick with using the WORD iSAT in disc too to keep from causing confusion??

While the device is off, press the + and – buttons simultaneously and turn the device on.
The Target ID section will show the main version and the GB window will show the minor updates.
Hope this helps...

For us taller users another inch or two in the rod length would be great!

Uh-oh! I'm not happy to read this comment. My Impact is on order.
My Racer has been fine for me, in terms of length for my height.
I was expecting the Impact would be about the same. Is there any
option for me to extend the shaft if I need to?

I'm 6'6" (about 198.5 cm), so I'm not freakishly tall (in my biased opinion),
but I am tall enough to make many things hard to fit me. Well, I guess I'll
only find out for sure when my Impact arrives.

Hey, Impact testers! Who is the tallest among you? How tall do you
think a user could be and still detect comfortably?

I am around 6ft tall and the lower rod is plenty long for me. I think it will depend on how you like to detect. Some people like to detect closer to their feet. I like the detector out a ways. I think I still have around two inches more I could extend it. Maybe they can come up with a longer lower rod for the taller people.

I'm about 6' 1"

seem's fine to me

but 6.6 might be a stretch ..no pun intended..LOL

Let's hope you have long arms! I have short arms so I had to have a tall man rod on other detectors.

99 with the iron audio turned down works for me. Dug a silver dime in a hole with a large square nail!

Well, my arms are a little long, but not incredibly so.
My wingspan is 6'8". (That's the last of my physical
dimensions I'm providing.)

I've been fine with a Tesoro Vaquero and Silver microMax
at full extension. Even a Bounty Hunter Elite 2200 was fine.
And, of course, my original Racer was fine for me. So I'm
relying on Nokta to provide an Impact that works for me
just as well, physically. I hope it arrives pretty soon so I
can find out.
