Rutus alter71 and XP DEUS out in the field
March 23, 2017 11:01AM
Here is a video of the Rutus Alter 71 I decided to go over a patch of dirt with the XP Deus and pick out all the clean sounding targets. Then I ran the Alter 71 over the same patch to see if any targets would be found that the deus had missed. I had the 11 inch coil on the Deus and the smaller 9 inch concentric on the alter 71 so in all fairness not a equal test. XP does not make a concentric for the deus or else I would of tested in such a way. My findings are as such. [www.youtube.com]

Don't get lonely Diggs, thanks for the video. I like the tone of the Rutus.....mild on the ears and nerves. The pinpoint sounds like an etrac.

Yes it does sound like the etrac now that you mention itthumbs down

Hey Diggs, if you want to dig deep, put that 11" dd coil on the 71. In freshwater beach sand, I've been digging to china.

"Thanks for the videos Diggs!"
Appreciated - time consuming.

When I saw you posted D v A , I hoped you had tested both over targets before digging.
I'm planning another D v A and it'll be a new twist for me?"

Yes I'm gonna put the DD on her next trip out, cheers

Do you guys think the Rutus, AKA, Nexus detectors are primarily made for open field hunting? I haven't seen much in the way of demos with these machines in an urban environment with EMI and trash to contend with while chasing coins. It's typically rural open fields with targets far apart with some large iron mixed in. A common theme by the manufacturers is a demonstration how incredibly deep they are but then you read some comments where owners say they are fairly typical. Maybe that's another reason sales in the US haven't taken off.

I use my Rutus Alter especially for the river beaches here that are littered with trash. This because I can recognise and ingore a lot of this trash now. This is IMO where the Rutus excells. Dual audio, good VDI ánd signograph. So much more fun this way. I also think the Rutus is the fastest machine to date.

The Nexus i wouldn't use in heavy trash, ideal in an open field and very deep on larger coins and relics.

15 minutes on the beach with garbage:

Nail Board Test

ps: The choice of the coil for the detector is very important ...

The Rutus can be a deep seeking machine as well, just lower the reactionspeed, lower the kHz and adjust your sweepspeed. As simple as that.thumbs down

Takes 4-6 weeks for aka products to arrive in north america after ordering is the biggest reason these machines never took off in our neck of the woods. They are more then capable of detecting in many areas and have key features to surpress emi. It is a professional grade detector and people on this side of the pond rather have a turn on and go type detector. 70% of the people who purchase signum series detectors have a hard time just ground balancing it. Not aka's fault more so the fault of people not taking the time to learn.

Thanks for the video. RA71 seems an interesting machine. Perhaps you can explain/verbalize what the (hodo) graph shows/tells you about the targets, particularly if you find it helpful regarding bits of aluminum if and when you happen to run into them.

The ONLY reason Rutus Alter hasn't taken off in the US is down to the company produces in small quantities.
Stocks can be low in European countries too.
I don't know if they have representation there yet and that might be another reason?

I tryed to supply them in Canada and they informed me only the EU can carry there products at this time. Check back in 2018. alot of red tape for internation sales I guess. I really bugged them to allow me to be a dealer but it was a firm no. I hope things change down the road

Those Polish and Bulgarian detectors are killing it for relic hunting.
