How did you determine the iron settings of 6, 21, 16 respectively. Thanks

The common way is to use a small iron nail, it can be rusty or otherwise. Some use old handmade square cut nails found at early 1800's relic sites. Fortunately the nails used in the old wood flooring at my house happen to be "just right' for my purposes. All new detectors get run over my floor to find the small iron disc point and yes, they are identical to NASA Tom settings. <grin>

Correct Tom. And I usually use a aggregate measure..........hunting several sites .....usually....only to learn that there is indeed...a common (correct) Disc setting to JUST BARELY Disc out the bulk of the nails/iron in the ground....with each different type of detector.
