That's a shame, Those machines have made a lot of people happy as well as breaking a few records.

Some of these older designs opened my eyes and the volume when you flick the PP mode will blast your ears off, I thought the newer machines were meant to give more depth etc but when they went digital they actually lost depth according to one Whites engineer. and the older machines prove it time and time again,

Some old analogs should get faster recovery speed only... to wipe out all digitals in few seconds.

Faster, deeper, better ID? Better discrimination? Some new graphical ID features?

I hope so, I hope they put it in a housing like the CTX.

Maybe some wireless lighter housing... CTX is heavy.

Yeah that would be good, and let it use existing Coils so we don't have to wait for them to be invented after it has been released..

IF all the added "depth" of all the "new" detectors were added up a backhoe would replace all digging tools.

I reckon strategic folks who run forums and the like although playing coy have inside information about exactly what this new detector is like and what it can do,but have signed non disclosure agreements till launch date.

My machines are deep enough with the coils I've got, I just need to get out there and start beeping,

I'm messing around sorting batteries for my truck and I just bought a twin cylinder compressor for the tyres etc so that should be here on Thursday, and then I am going to mount my fridge/freezer in the back and fit my winches etc,

I wonder if it will look like a Gold Monster..

I cant see them spending money on a One off mechanical design..??eye rolling smiley

X-terra boxes have probably ran their course and the old Sovereign boxes that the Eureka is still using I'm sure has about run its course too..

That would leave the Etrac(probably about through) and CTX/7000 Monster and GPX boxes...Something tells me the GPXs(Boxes) may fade out too if the 7000 keeps dropping in price..

If It was me designing a machine..I would of kept the Xterra box (.GREAT SET UP) and stuck a Sovereign in it running on 4 AA's and gave it full disc accept even iron with ability to break iron tone where I wanted and supplied ability to provide multiple notching user defined...make the box waterproof for wading..NOT DIVING..

a light weight BBS unit that retains the Sovereign SOUNDS to a T with more user control of disc and such in a lightweight waterpoof housing would tickle me to death.Don't mess the sovereign up,, don't tinker with it like faster recovery etc...Keep it authentic to original DNA just modernize it some..

Yet I'm not designing it ..LOL

Give me a GPX 5000, in a truly waterproof box, with full discrimination and lightning fast recovery speed and I will buy it LOL

Remember the hype in front of the 3030? It was a good machine on top of the etrac, albeit plus $1000 for those with deep pockets.

(That's 168 90% silver halves.)

Will it be worth it? Let history be the judge...

A 21st Century Sovereign, That would be the machine to have for sure.

Oh I'm not getting my hopes up again. A new waterproof Sovereign has been on my wish list for 20 years. Every on of these teaser releases gets my blood pumping. If it's a new go find I'm throwing in the towel.

My understanding was Tyndall (40% owner) wanted out and sold his share to a friend telling him once the current principal/president Steve Garris died (cancer) hed own the whole ball of wax. In fact he was given all the equipment by the presidents wife from the basement to help reopen shop once Steve died. Hes doing repairs. Dont know what skills he has to introduce a new machine.

Well, if it is going to be presented at the UK Rally, that rules out a Go-Find!
I hope this is that lightweight MF I/we have been waiting for!

Car manufacturers often quote fuel consumption.
I once did the math.
With my average driven miles/kms per year it would take me more than my lifetime, to justify buying a new vehicle because it had lower fuel consumption.
Go figure.

These days I walk to work :-)

hoping for a 'revolutionary' machine, I bought the etrac the day it was available, then the CTX and was successful at finding quite a few I missed
at the old sites....

really hoping for something to give me another go at it....fingers crossed.

also, I do remember that the day I heard about the etrac it was available to order (with no delays and that was here in Canada)...impressive!

and luckily it never needed a repair, lol
