Not to feed the rampant rumor mill, but what if the production hitch is allow them to ramp up production numbers to avoid a torches and pitchforks scenario because availability is zero after the initial release???? Just sayin...

I highly encourage those who have preorders in, to make certain your dealer has all needed personal data for transaction.

I already have, and hence am Locked and Loaded for Equinox 800 model.

Well, well, looks like 4 things are about to happen:

Faster horses
Younger women
Older whiskey
More money-----------------------------Rumor has it that gold and silver jump outta the ground when the Nox is around.

Forgive an old Baptist preacher, but I thought the whiskey, older or not, reduced or eliminated the requirement for women to be younger? Its been half a century and the memory (among other things) is not what it once was.

My opinion.......IF the machine proves its self, and i believe it will..... and they decide to make this a line of detectors they really need to bring back the smartscreen as an upgrade. There is just to much good information lost and its a much better view of the disc...... a good example is bottle caps. This is worth some extra money IMO from us. Im sure even if they stay with the stable Cond single digit it could be used. If they decide to keep the smartscreen only on the CTX ..... im afraid people will go with the less expensive machine..... especially if its a good beach machine. We'd loose out i believe....... but time will tell. I also believe this machine deserves a few more coil options to take advantage of its capabilities. I for one appreciate MLs vision and R&D..... and to all those who added to the improvement during testing of this machine. Im looking for good things here.

Now for the serious water hunters........ will you need to upgrade your scoop, use a sifter, add lining, or even buy a waterproof PPer? Ive got a few beaches that were used during WWII..... so there is a lot of very small pieces of 50 cal brass. The EQ could make me rethink some things....... and of course cost me some money lol. I know what the CTX and Xcal finds.... they can be some pretty small stuff. This can get interesting since normally i use 1/2 holes and dont have to chase to much can slaw. Even that size hole can be challenging when rotating beaches .... some have fluffy sand and then there are those with larger shells that dont clear...... add chasing even smaller targets..... may require some thinking or adjustment. Dry sand hunting normally isnt an issue...... scoop, kick, and re-PP..... but chest deep may add a little challenge and slow your recoveries now.

I hunt Michigan inland lakes and Lake Michigan and have always preferred good sensitive single freq machines over Multi. The Equinox will be changing that for me this year. I'll be finding out this summer just how sensitive it is to fine chains and the like.

As fresh water hunters know, chasing small split shot, lead BB's, pellets and .22 lead is part of the game.

I have read manual 3 times.
Very extraordinary I must say.
Will definitely help beginner detectorist.
Layout is nice too.

Notice on page 52 this "iron bias" is talked about and how the 2 models compare.

This manual is so good, IMO it will be hard for someone to put together an aftermarket book to do a better job. Like what we have seen done on previous Minelab models.

Re: Here's the new Minelab Equinox

How it operates around coke interests me, the manual says it disc it out in field mode, but you run the risk of small cut silver being missed, and i guess the coke could also mask some non ferrous targets.
Personally i'd rater hear the coke and hope the audio has enough information/nuances to ID it.

Here's the part in the manual ref coke:
Coke is the charcoal and carbon by-product
of burnt coal, and is prevalent around
historically populated areas.
Generally coke has a Target ID of 1 or 2. For
this reason it is rejected by default in Field
Mode. Note, this could result in some small
non-ferrous targets being missed.
Field 1 Multi-IQ, even with Target IDs 1 and
2 accepted, will reject more coke more than
Field 2 using Multi-IQ.

I've gotten so use to my AKA running wide open and without filters, there's so much more information given to the user. Hopefully the Equinox has ground filter adjustments, and isn't dumbed down in this respect to make it more user friendly, quiet, etc

When testing Intronik in heavy rocks, they were faced with the problem of multi-frequency technology working on a mixture of hot stones with cold stones.
At the same time, it was suggested that ML will face the same problem, and everyone is wondering exactly how the ML engineers will come out of this situation.
One of the simplest possible options is to expand the clipping window ... with all the ensuing from this ...
I wonder what actually offered in ML?

You will have to give it a go and see how it responds. Perhaps one of the other modes like the Gold Mode will perform better in your situation? We will find out shortly. HH.

Spouses and significant others of Equinox 800 users. Take note of headphone linking to smartphone. No more honey I'm late for dinner. Lol
On a serious note, good innovative move here Minelab, folks can enjoy their equipment and still stay connected to friends and family for emergencies and other important issues.

I guess a fair statement here.
Minelab is even looking out for actual non detectorist here with this innovation.

This smart phone pairing capability I think will indeed give folks who purchase the 600 model incentive to eventually buy the MI-80 wireless headphones.

Persons purchasing Equinox, be mindful.
Manual shows charging cable(s) depending on package model..
This cable is USB, will not plug into wall outlet household power.
So you'll need some thing to plug charge cable into.

Refer to manual, as to the requirements and the advantages and disadvantages for charge times depending on method used.
