Here's the new Minelab Equinox

My detecting window of opportunity is shrinking by the day. I'm starting a new and challenging (I.E.; very time consuming) job next month, and my wife and I are expecting our first this summer, so time will be a premium for me. I was really excited to get this before starting the new job so I could take it to some the sites that give my VLF machines fits (like heavy alkali soil sites)..... I'm almost considering canceling my order, as if this things keeps getting delayed, I may not be able to use it until the fall, and by then, I'm sure they'll be deals on used ones for those that don't click with it.

My dealer said he is getting four units. Probably on Friday.

ML has been consistent in one thing..... none committal as to a firm date for delivery.

Agreed. There is an ulterior motive for sure.

Per telecom with my dealer. My Equinox unit has been assigned shipping tracking #. I don't have EDD yet though.

I think that means they printed a label for the system, but there may not be a box there to stick it on.

I was told the unit is being shipped to me. When I can view tracking # and can derive delivery date I will pass along.
UPDATED: tracking # reflected on UPS site, UPS site reflects scheduled delivery date of 12 Feb 2018.

Btw, there are some individuals who have delivery dates of Equinox. (USA)

Either my label is on the way or they stuck the label on a box.
Will find on Wednesday the 14th.

Now I just have to figure out how I’m going to play with whatever shows up on Valentines Day

I contacted the dealer I ordered mine from and he said he was getting a whopping two units, and even though I'm only like #8 on the list, that I shouldn't expect mine any time soon.

I'm considering canceling my order, as I start a new job next month and will be so immersed in that for the foreseeable future, it probably doesn't make sense to get one next month (who knows, it may not show up until April) only to have it sitting around collecting dust.

I canceled my preorder way back in November when Minelab stuck the *** discrimination ratings on the Equinox well below the Etrac and CTX. I already have two fast recovery detectors with *** disc ability and saw no need for a third. When mid Summer rolls around and the hype drops down there will be plenty available minus the glitches which may plague the first production run.

Tom's review should be available by then , I hope , instead of just the commercials released so far by the Minelab FAN boys. Does anyone else think it's strange his assessment has been sequestered? Do you really think Minelab would not want more orders if his review is glowing?

Test depth in "Park" mode ...

If you have a mens wedding band ....... approx. 8 grams... id like an air test measurement in Mult freq if you dont mind...... as well as the thinnest gold chain you may stashed away. The results will tell me if i still want this machine...... and if its as gold blind as the CTX/Xcal on small gold. That video reminded me why i dont care much for single digits over the smartscreen.....

I think it is pretty darn strange that there has been no report from Tom and others to this point. Whether a glitch was discovered or just some for the better changes were made, something happened for no reports to be out before delivery, in my opinion. And, it is a new detector that I was rooting for....and still am. HH jim tn

Maybe Minelab wants the detector to do most of the talking.

Can't say for sure but if he signed a nondisclosure agreement and if they haven't released him yet, being the professional he is, I would say that is why you haven't heard anything from Tom yet. Totally possible that even in the future he will be very limited in what he can reveal about his involvement.

Having Tom involved prior to the release, couldn't have been a bad thing!
