A friendly reminder here for those who posess Equinox units or those who plan on getting.

Pay particular attention when transporting your units.

What I am referring to here is the magnetic charging port on detector as well as the magnetic port on wi stream headphone module.

These both can pick up metal things when exposed. Hence there could be a possibility of you shorting out either or your detector's battery or the battery in the wireless module.

My headphone module picked up a nail today when I laid it down briefly.

Just thought I would share.

No voltage is present at the magnetic connector - otherwise water would short it out. Metal stuck to the plug or contact could possibly screwup charging and perhaps even damage something.

Rick..... i believe i checked that .... its like the Aqua Sound (nautilus in a box). One way .... it only works when charging... you cant get a multi read on the battery other wise. Slick idea for this machine. since its being used in the salt water.

Thanks for the Link share TNSS.

I really like that photo they used! Nice fall scene...

Had a good feeling this was inevitable...was thinking it would be announced next week?

The 'Silver Coin On Edge ID', also carries over to Copper coinage. (some UK users reported problems with their copper 2p coins)

First question i asked Tom was there a way to go back if there was something that affected the mode we were using. Good to see that ability. Now let the PLACEBO affect begin lol. I say that because i down loaded it and headed to the beach. Mine seemed as deep in the wet salt sand in beach 2 as it did in beach 1. It seemed crisper on clad even those on edge than before ...... and the ones i found (in wet sand) were VERY deep. Had enough time to test a small 18k chain that i had found with the Xcal which had a small charm and clasp. Removed those and the Xcal didnt see it...... but the Nox hit it at about 2" buried in the wet sand. Anythings an improvement for beach 2. Got the coil wet but couldnt get in the nasty Red Tide water. So i look forward to others observation today.

It is interesting to see all of the many, many posts about 1 year ago about the Equinox when first released. I wonder how many of the skeptics back then now own an Equinox? In about a year it has not and will not put Garrett and others out of the business of making metal detectors. But I suspect it has taken some sales away from other manufacturers. At the same time I think many newbies who purchased an Equinox may have given up on it due to the complexity of learning to how to use it properly. And I suspect it has hurt the CTX3030 sales. I have read some posts by experienced CTX3030 users that they like the capabilities of the Equinox and the light weight. I also suspect it will trigger the other MD manufacturers to offer better products in their next release. Especially Garrett who released the AT Max as a successor to the AT Pro. As an AT Pro user, I was deciding between the AT Max or Equinox 800 to replace my AT Pro I had for 3 years. The decision to go with the 800 was an easy one. Finally a reasonable price to jump into the Minelab family of detectors.

I am only a “carrier pigeon” here. I can’t answer your question.
