I would be very surprised if it didn't have noise cancel. Even the new Gold Monseter has it, but it's not like the slow one
on the CTX that takes 30 seconds. It is automatic on start up and only take 2 or 3 seconds.
No way to manually pick a channel though.

Well I notice they have the usual hype.....this directly from the ad towards the top:

"The EQUINOX Series is the all-terrain multi-purpose detector that obsoletes all single frequency VLF detectors. Equally adaptable for all target types and ground conditions… just select your detecting location and go!"

But as we scroll towards the bottom we finally get a sliver of truth, this also directly from the same ad:

"EQUINOX, with Multi-IQ, has the potential to obsolete all the traditional VLF detectors that enthusiasts have been using for decades.” –Minelab Electronics Pty Ltd.

So i guess they leave themselves an out.....just in case their new lil whiz bang machine in fact doesn't obsolete all exsisting single freq. detectors smiling smiley

Righto

Notice by the wording, they say Equinox series, which would include the 600 model.
We know good and well if couldn't obsolete all other vlf detectors by just the freqs it uses.

It can not Obsolete anything, Every detector ever made will carry on working just like they always have, That comment is just more ML BS

he did show it. icon and manual selection of channel. said auto was disabled in that build but will be there for prod.

When asked such questions, some on the forum why are offended ...
Although in my opinion these are very logical and correct questions.
If the novelty surpasses all that was, why modestly forgot to show it on the video?
Or worry about the fact that people will run to sell their detectors?

Nox multi-freq

Did I hear him right? at 4:00 when he was running thru the frequencies after 40 he went to Multi and said that was even higher frequency. For what purpose?

At 4:40 the Minelab rep states that it's running 7 frequencies in multi.

I believe i heard him say several frequencies not 7.

"Yes, here in the UK, Ireland etc we commonly refer to 'many' as 'several'
Meaning there's more than 3 or 4 or 5.

He did not say 7 but 'several' meaning however many they have programmed into the 5, 10, 15, 20, 40 etc.

Not 7.....

Nice job on the video, probably the best overall EQX video yet.

I liked how when you asked What about the application for android like for the GoFind, the Minelab engineer said: "Oh no no no we don't have that!" Sounded like they didn't want anything to do with an app smiling smiley

Is it me, or when you were detecting those planted coins with the red flags, was the EQX detecting them?

I thought that too the first go around, then I replayed it and realized he actually said "several".... at first I was like seven frequencies, WTH?

I have the problem with machine to get constant signal from those objects with red flags or even with green to... Audio was not crips. I was adjust few times noise cancel and sensitivity and frequency.

Nothing. Maybe my unit was broken. I'm not sure. Coins on grass level and everything was ok.

Those units are demo units still.

The more info I see on this detector the less I like about it .
It air tests well but how deep will it detect in mineralised ground, the test of the £2 coin was not buried but just done over an open hole.
The trick with the large ferrous target amongst coins has been debunked.
As for making every single frequency detector obsolete its pure hype & will be a massive letdown to people who buy it & realise it isn't going to be anywhere near groundbreaking as made out.
Re: Here's the new Minelab Equinox

I tried the Deus 13" coil on the same test with a £2 coin, it didn't get it any better than the Equinox, also couldn't get a squeek on it with the hole covered in.

Have to wrap the handle for sure. Can see that plastic showing wear quickly. I too have decided to hold off on pre order. With no set date for release I will miss some of the best water hunting of the year so took the plunge for a used Excal II. When they replenish the beaches down here over the next couple months the only hunting around here is for shells.
Re: Here's the new Minelab Equinox

Let me get this straight. Minelab planted a few coins in their own test bed, to show how the new machine performs. But the machine couldn't hit almost any of these targets? Right?
I was thinking about it for 6 minutes. Here is my explanation: Minelab told the locals to bury the targets at a certain depth. They already converted it to centimeters, but the guys from UK used inches... How brilliant, this must be it!
