Just a wireless version should be an easy add-on to any headset. I see a business op for someone here..........

I love the depth of the Whites. I have never had a problem using a pinpointer with headphones on. With the vibration feature I sometimes don't even use sound. I hate drawing attention.

I'm glad you said it first. I read that post about taking the headphones off when using the probe and was like "say what? Why would you take the headphones off to use the probe?". I never take mine off either and can hear it fine. Sometimes I use mine in vibrate only too, for the same reason as you...not to draw attention. On the older black ProPointer, I put tape over the speaker to muffle it.

The model 35 is a potentially great product. I can't believe the only video of it is in Russian, and that was probably the model 15 because it sounded the same on a Lesche as it did on a presumably nonferrous target.

I previously owned a Pro Find 25. The ergonomics were terrible, and these new models appear to have the same round body and small pushbutton as the 25. Even so, I'd be very interested in a discriminating pinpointer whenever I'm using a detector that doesn't have a Sun Ray probe.

IF Minelab made a wireless inline pinpointer to go with the new Nox, that would really be something!!

I think the Dues XP wireless inline pinpointer was a failed attempt, all it has to do is work like a wireless Sunray probe with the Nox and you have a big hit!!!

I already have an Explorer2 fanboy saying that he's not sure about the Nox because he hates that there's no inline probe option for it - lol I guess when you've been used to it for 15 years change is difficult smiling smiley

I guess you would wiggle it like a Sunray in the hole to make it give the tone discrimination? Find a target then wiggle the probe over it to see if you get an iron tone? Haven't watched any videos.

Pulsating sound - this is the work of discrimination on "iron" ...

Watched the video.

Like all disc circuits there has to be a certain amount of signal strength to work with and this is no different. In this case it appears to need a near max response. Rather than going with a low tone high tone type of response we are most accustomed to for audio iron disc, they have the audio null after its peak response. So you get a fast tone-null, tone-null for iron and a full tone, full tone, for conductive. But again you have to get close enough to get a max audio response for it to be useful as it needs the faster response of a close proximity target to properly make out the after peak nulls that cause the pulsation.

This is a hard thing to do. So the fact they even got something that is intelligible, even though it has to close to a target to work is something. Have to wait and see if it turns into something useful or just becomes a novelty.

The difference is so subtle that I didn't even notice it on my first viewing of the video. I'm thoroughly disappointed and will be keeping my Sun Ray X1.

Not a game changer for me.
Might come in handy in certain scenarios, by and large though if I am within an inch or 2 of an iron nail, I am going to dig it out regardless of what the pinpointer says.

The same opnion like above. This is marketing only.

Agreed. I can see a use for it, but I doubt I'll buy one. Minelab's last pinpointed was a piece of junk.
