Tom have you ever hunted the Outer Banks of North Carolina? Sorry I'm bored and it tried to snow on me again this morning.Bill

31 years ago........ in 1986. And....... only once (due to time-limitations).

The first time I ever hunted there I walked on to the sand,found a clean spot and ground balanced my V3i.I took one step forward swinging the coil to one side and got a signal .I dug the signal. It was a large 14 carat yellow gold men's ring with a large diamond(I had it cleaned and appraised.It was appraised $5600.00). I almost had to slip a Nitro under my tongue when the jeweler told it's worth.I've found a few gold rings since then but that and a silver dollar I found in my yard in Montana are my two favorite detector finds.Bill

And THAT will keep you permanently addicted to the hobby! One of my very first finds (ever)..... was a 1856 Flying Eagle "pattern coin" penny. For me....... THIS one "left a mark"......... for eternity.
