I heard before Jack Gifford died He was working on a Prototype. He said it was going to have Vaquero type depth with a Target I.D. I guess it got shelved when He passed away?

Guys that's Frank S. who loves Teknetics Mark 1's. https://sites.google.com/site/thetekneticsmark1/
He was in touch with George Payne regarding putting together a Micro Mark 1. He said it was ready, many of us are still waiting for it, how many years has it been...? LOL
Sounds like the Tesoro Caper....... Yeah we keep hounding him on the Compass Forum. Maybe one day. Guess He's found a new love working on Tesoro's.
You never know what he has up his sleeve.thumbs down

Sven you ole cotton picker you let the cat out of the bag. Thanks for the compliments i appreciate it and yes i would work for Tesoro in a heartbeat. The biggest issue with the Mark 1 is cost as it would be around $2500 out of my pocket to get a prototype board finished and ready and im definitely no millionaire. Honestly I got into the Micro Mark after my son died to keep my mind occupied. After we move to Texas I hope to be able to obtain the extra cash needed for the first Micro Mark board and go from there. I have almost 30 years in electronics and i tell you that i could spend the rest of my life working with metal detectors. Tesoros are superb detectors that are fairly easy to modify. Still dont have a buyer for the Desperado yet but hoping one will come along. The visual hearing aid i made are doing fairly well and those who have bought them really love them. I would love to pick up where Jack Gifford left off on a Tesoro with Vaquero depth with target ID.
Another thought I have had is that I truly believe that there is a market for a company to offer an updated vintage detector line. Imagine being offered a Teknetics ST or a Compass XP Pro but in a smaller housing with surface mount components. Maybe add an extra feature or 2 as well as the original features. Anyway sorry to ramble and if you folks get the time stop by my site and take a peek.
www.depthdevil.com and if you need a great pulse induction detector look no further than our very own Sven and his Mirage PI. Happy thanksgiving to all and do not spare the turkey.

Frank, sorry to hear about your loss. Keep us updated here on your electronic projects. Fascinating.

The Mach 1 VDI that you are designing, will that be available for most detectors, or just a few? Interesting.

Keep us posted on your progress!

Harold I was born in 1970 and was forced as a kid to wear those damned bell bottom pants. I remember taking class photos with shirts that had collars bigger than i was. My brother who is short actually bought and wore some of those platform shoes to make himself taller. My mom loved disco and i still like KC and the Sunshine Band but please done tell anybody else...

Ohh come on, we all dressed like that. I remember my multi-color striped bell bottoms. Just never wore those big collared shirts, wasn't into being a disco dude like my father and his friends....LOL
Did have a three piece suit to go out wearing, it was in--cool, blue denim with hobo patches all over....man, did I look like a goof. I was already 13 in 1970.

Be sure to do so AG

I'd like to see a vid of it in action if you have time to make one too.

I was thinking about buying it myself but seems you beat me to the punch!

And I have a 13" Ultimate coil! Should be some deep fun. I have a field where I dug 50 confederate buttons. Should be fun to see if it can sniff another!
