I emailed Dave E and told him I would like to test his machine once he got it off the ground
but of course never heard from him.
I see he mentioned starting his own forum in that linked thread you gave, my guess is it
never got started.
He must have ran into some problems with getting it to work.
Perhaps Whites TDI is the closest working unit out there with the idea of some form of ID.
Might take a sophisticated computer doing analysis to ever get a true discriminating PI.
Charles had on his website complete instructions on putting the Explorer on
a Whites rod, I wished I would have paid more attention now.
I believe I read where Beachcomber has recently retired from metal detecting.
Back to light coil on Explorer, that one guy had removed the material surrounding the
coils and had some kind of homemade cover to keep dirt out.
That would have been an XS coil, I think ML went to epoxy filled at some point.
I am not sure whether this guy actually had done what he claimed he did.
I never had the courage to open the coil......
