I have 6 detectors in my closet...taking up to much room...want to move them to the basement...pretty cool down there....will that hurt them?

Cool is fine, damp and cool is not

Need dehumidifier in a basement IMO to be safe.
Unless detector is deemed waterproof.

Especially in winter time.

Might fly a bit in the summer like June, or whichever months has lowest humidity levels.

Keep My 3 in a closet nice and warm with Batteries pulled. Take care of them and they will take care of You.

A real good dehumidifier is a Santa Fe. Pick the model that suits the size of your basement. These are American made and built like tanks.
