Multiply by 3 and correlate it to your other detectors with VDI numbers to 100? Example nickel 12x3 = 36?

In a word - no.

What's a Changer and what did it change?

I believe the reference Changer is to the Equinox. Short for Game Changer. Is advertised by the manufacturer Minelab to make all other single frequency detectors obsolete.

The question posed is whether the Target ID values for common coins on the equinox meter, a relatively compact meter scale, can be multiplied by 3 and fall onto the same scale as other common detectors already in use.

Hope that helps.

Just one more good target before I go.

I was scratching my head, too, I thought it may be a new Detech machine, to go with the Chaser.

And PhDetector is correct. TID numbers are completely arbitrary, chosen by the designer, and they're unlikely to carry from one model to another , let alone across different manufacturers products.

Yeah I know Rich. Just a joke. I used to buy every new detector that came along, some good, some not so good. Now I just use George as my barometer. If he's still talking about it in six months, then it's really good and I may buy one. But if he puts it up for sale I know it's not the greatest thing since sliced bread, and move on to the next game changer. To George's credit, he won't call a detector a dud. He'll just stop talking about it. Silence is golden.

Yeah! "Let George do it!" Heard this all my life and never had a clue what it meant. Just looked it up. Old radio program about George Valentine, PI, its worth a google/listen.
