I heard mention that the vintage metal detectors were considered 'lunch boxes'. Yours is the true definition. My dad would kill for that lunch box! He idolized Roy Rogers. Other than win the science fair,did you find anything with it?

I could detect a quarter at about 2 inches. Never took it out to use though.

Hi Ho Silver! I give you an "A" for effort. Me, I would have someone how fried all the electronics. My parents did tell me I was an "expert" at taking things apart though. smoking smiley

It was specialty made finding thrown horse shoes

Speaking as an electronics guy, I like that. It really needs to be refurbished and made to work again. Fit a suitable vintage knob on the tuning capacitor, connect the PP9(?) battery, go find some treasure.
( I won't ask for a YouTube video of airtests on a dime, even though it would be more entertaining than many detecting videos)

Ozzie....no I did not. Wish I did. I am in the IT field. Been in it for over 35 years. Seems there are changes every 5 minutes. Not like the old days.

Gotta find a new gig.
