Is it possible to buy a Rutus Alter 71 stateside? If so, where?

Thanks,
Mike

Don't think so. Have to buy from UK I reckon. Unless you find a used one in USA.
I have one with 2 coils I would part with at reasonable price.
I like the detector.
I got too many I like. Lol
And can't run them all enough it seems.

I have zero interest in the Equinox. Now the Rutus Alter 71 is a different story and I've had my eye on it since the first day I heard about it. I'm just now jumping.

Wait a minute! Someone who doesn't want a Equinox?
Can it be? Ha!

With the 71's expanded VID , Last year I picked a lot of rings amongst the alum trash. Watch for numbers that lock in, and do not jump. Most alum tabs jump a bit. Some of the square tabs come thru with one number, so you will dig some, but over all, you should dig a fair amount of jewelry. With the EQ 800, and its compact scale, its tough to dig jewelry without digging tons of crap. Where the EQ shines in a park hunt is digging coins. It just does not miss much. Pick the right tool for the job.

Make that two with zero interest in the Equinox Harold.-----What I got is "goo nuff"!----Just yesterday in an absolutely beat to death site I dug two silver Wash. quarters, two silver Rosies & three wheat backs with our old beloved "antiquitated" Etrac & X-8----not bad for an "ancient" ole war horse!-------Sorry for the hijack--back to your normal (Rutus) broadcasting. smiling smiley

It's 70 Degrees today. I am going to head out with My dinosaur analog CZ-3D. Probably won't find a thing as it's not the Mighty Nox. Ha!

Mike and Del. I am with you both on the Nox. Starting to crowd the 50 silver coin mark thus far for the year with the old F 75 and Omega. Put the right coil on for the task and they will find coins. HH jim tn

I really liked the Rutus, much preferred it over the Deus, and every bit as good in iron. Get the wireless module for your headphones it works real well.

There's also a few more coil options coming very soon, June i think i read.

Found my oldest dated (legible) coin with Rutus (1784).
It is getting a good home though.

I loaned my Rutus out to a gent some time back.

Here's some of his Rutus hunt threads.

Should have got a commission on those rings. lol

Btw, for gee whiz.
Packing up unit this morning for Mike.
I inspected bottom of coils.

They look more or less like new. They have no removable covers either. Some real good quality plastic used I reckon.

This team in Poland is no joke folks who engineered and made Rutus.

We'll let Mike report on.
But I will say Rutus rod is best I have even seen/used to date. Very solid design and build. No shortcuts!

Shames the Nox's rod. There I said it. True though.

Well right now the Equinox, Etrac, 2 Deus units (all coils but the bigger LF coil), Impact, explorer XS, deep tech warrior, detecth chaser. And another Equinox on order with some other coils.

Need to keep some, for some possible detector testing.
Likely will give the warrior and chaser new homes soon.
Wouldn't mind picking up a F75+ unit.
Eyeing one right now.

Indeed you did, TN. I love that CTX!

Mike, he'll do you right; I find the Alter 71 interesting, as well. Will be interested to hear your take on it...

Thanks,

Steve

I like the simplicity of the Rutus display. Very little visual cockpit training required for it. I don't necessarily mind a busy cockpit but the busier the display the more effort you have to put into training yourself on how to view it.

Those ring finds in the links were nice. Sure digging a lot of trash though. But running 18 kHz that's to be expected as high frequency scream on the trash and don't allow much discrimination. What I'm expecting is that I can dial in a good frequency balance between screaming and discriminating, what ever that happens to be that will allow the stick man to talk to me.

Its the non-round stuff I'm missing out on. Crosses, funky pendant shapes, etc. That stuff is still hiding from me.
