Read they were testing it across the pond!

The guy designing it lives in France, so most of the testing is being done there.
Re: New Fisher Manta

Hoping they finish it by spring.....Rick gave an interesting report awhile back about one of the testers who was selling a prototype. Got to be a good machine for Fl if it can just give some disc for iron.... and get the kind of stable Us talked about. Who know could get really reduce the number of machines I need. Im hoping Tom gets his hands on one ....love to see a good review.

I am also watching and interested in this detector. Need to see the weight though before I leap.

I’m really looking forward to one of these machines.

I know that I have posted this numerous times, but it’s a great preview if the kind of performance we can look forward to. The mechanical package will no doubt be more refined than the heavy manta prototypes - just look at the rest of the fisher and tekneticvs lines - but the capabilities promise a new day in salt beach performance.

Im hoping as well that they can ..... RE-PACKAGE it. No screen to deal with .... so POWERFUL....DISC.....SIMPLE..... AND LIGHT. I wouldnt think we'd need a lot of buttons to push.... bells or whistles. It will also be interesting to see the coil options/foot print. This isnt going to be everyones beach machine for sure......but its sure going to make choosing a PI for water hunting here in Fl much more attractive and useful....especially for us old guys lol.

Did he not use Eric's Goldscan 5b and expand on it?

Alexandre Tartar, the French physicist who developed the Manta, built upon the basic concepts of Eric Fosters series of PI detectors - two channel PI’s with a ground balance capability. Many years of development have specially tuned the Manta series to be killer beach machines - great depth, useful iron ID capability and very short minimum pulse delay - along with variable SAT to allow coping with varying conditions.

The whole background is on his Linkdin page and the pdf (in French) is at.

I ran it through the google translator available if you open it in the Chrome browser.

I did so and saved it at.

As a nugget shooter this gets me excited. I'm hoping it would perform in the gold fields as well(?). I would love a chest mounted control box on a CAPABLE gold field PI unit that has good disc capabilities to boot.

The tester posts on a UK forum here is what he says so far

''Hello,
result of my last four tides
on the Passover weekend and some news of the upcoming Fisher
to Manta technology. Many targets and one of gold grinning smiley

I test the latest version, release scheduled for the end of the year
a high voltage induction pulse / 16 volts /
offering a very high sensitivity on gold
calibrate to 7us (never in large series)

for the moment I find him only one defect
= It requires digging ever deeper''

'' Lytle78 wrote

How is the iron ID-exclusion on the Manta doing - does it work to full depth?

Hi,
in iron rejection mode
which is not really a discrimination
rather what I call from double sight ... take gold in iron
the performance is kept at 95% compare to all metals

which will allow him to go get a gold ring in a carpet of nails
and even stronger, take gold in the volcanic sand
what no other detector is able to do so far

still a little patience,
the production phase is for very soon ::g
PI Fisher--Aquamanta / Pulsepowers Goldscan 5C / Vista Gold / Nexus Coronado
''
forgive my english ...

'' Very nice Le Jag some great finds

Looking forward to the release of the new PI Manta / Fisher

Will be interesting to see what the price will be.''

Thanks,

I do not have information on the price, it's marketing Fisher
who manages this part...
I only do beach tests for Alexandre
who now works for the Fisher group

all I can say is that after using all the Pulsepowers
done by Eric Foster and most of the pi for the beach
I've never had such a deep and powerful machine on gold
in all-metal mode the depth is scary
the 50 cm are easily reached on small targets
the revolutionary currencies in the photo (decimes)
were taken more than 45 cm deep
provide a good gamatte

and in iron rejection mode, he will take, low gold and platinum conductors,
where nobody can find them for the moment ''

''yes it will be waterproof and then a version
special terramanta nugget or gold coin in the land
And that's just the beginning...

I greatly exceed the performance of my Goldscan 5c
who already exceeded the deepstar III

the expected delay on the aquamanta is 7us (never seen at the beach)''

'' Many thanks for the info Le Jag

Think I need to buy one hopefully the price will not be to high.''

Some interesting things in the works will look forward to see what the inland model can do.

How about the depth on rings around 8g can it reach 60 cm and beyond.

not what, 50 cm is possible on a big ring
which is already really deep d;]
with the 12 inches but it is expected later larger coils''

18 inches on large rings and coins in sand can already be achieved with other high end detectors if you know what you are doing. Admitedly the signals aren't very loud.
yes, but they are few
and none sound as smooth as manta .''

''I do not use the 15-inch, 12 is already exhausting to Beach
when I say 50 cm it's a value on
will probably be more, I already dig targets more than 50cm
but I did not do a great depth test for two reasons

the first, when we move the sand we never get the sound
of a target naturally in place for years

and second: too lazy to dig 80 cm just to do a test''

In Fl.... this should obsolete a few machines dont you think? Looking forward to fall on this one....should have more news by then.

A land version is no doubt on the menu, but the issue of doing GB in highly mineralized ground without the depth loss of the TDI platform with GB on is a tough one.

Hello,

some news on Fisher Manta
after using, the most powerful pulsepower
deepstar, SSV3, Aquastar, Goldscan 5c

I can tell you that Fisher Manta is deeper
and more sensitive with its 7us delay

the total weight should not exceed 1.5 kg
the Fisher team is currently working on the mechanical part
new box, cane, new coil....

the high sensitivity of the 7us requires materials accordingly
solid disc with specific resin
winding and shielding of very high quality
high-end cable also for shielding ....

all this add to a waterproof version
requires more time for mass production than a conventional detector

once the mechanical part is fully operational
the first pre-series will not be long
and here I guarantee you the greatest depth
that you will never have seen on a ring at the beach

if you hunt in the hard, look for a very solid gamate !!!! spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

will follow the Terra version for the nugget
and this is just the beginning, Alexandre and the research team
is already working on other technologies
who will revolutionize the world of gold diggers

P.S. - LE JAG isn’t kidding - he has not only seen this version of the future, he has played with it and found the gold.

If your idea of fun at the beach is $2.62 in clad and a pocket full of pull tabs - this won’t avoid finding any of that - but if there is deep gold hiding where others have been already - or never have been, then LE JAG thinks this will be the tool to unlock Davey Jones’ Locker.

Is he right? We will find out soon - maybe not VERY soon, but soon.

Last year I started a thread over on Findmall “Let’s design the perfect beach detector”. Lots of folks chipped in. Here’s a link. Have a look and we’ll see how close Fisher comes with whatever they call the production version of the Manta!

2xs that thumbs down

And on the report in the link Rick posted = dude says he's hitting standard size gold rings at 50 centimeters = 19.6" deep with 12" coil!
Re: New Fisher Manta
April 23, 2018 01:19AM
He also said later that he suspected 80cm might be possible, but there were two problems. Set up tests of dug sand never replicate the actual electromagnetic environment of the target and - he’s too lazy to dig that deep! Lol

Re: New Fisher Manta

The pulse delay of 7msec is important because the signal from small gold is typically gone by about 10 mesc. The problem with short pulse delays is that the coil has to be nearly perfect and the salt and moving water can cause signals = apparently through careful design and engineering - Alexandre has overcome the problems.

Again, the story repeats - our hobby/passion depends for progress in incremental improvements of the limited ways physics allows the extraction of useful information about buried metallic objects in the complex, ever variable matrix of the earth’s surface.

Hard enough - but add to that that there are probably not two dozen fully qualified physicists/engineers/inventors working on these problems and you see why I crack up when folks start talking about progress in microwave communications, cell phones, depth finders, etc. Billions at play there - a few millions (at most) available for investment in developing the tools we lust after.

Rick,
Do you think the land version will compete with the GPX? I'm not familiar with the other PI units he mentioned. The TDI is a very sub par machine for serious nugget shooting. Will it surpass the TDI? Thanks!

Re: New Fisher Manta

The TDI with ground balance off, was deeper than I wanted to dig on the gulf beaches even with one of the largest sand scoops available to date. The trouble though was that it deactivated the conductivity switch, therefore making all targets sound the same. The solution was to activate the GB switch and even though a GB setting could not be found (low mineral) to set it at certain settings based on the pulse delay setting. This enabled the audio to be high tone for low conductors and low tone for high conductors but also killed a great deal of the depth compared to GB off.

The Mantra sounds interesting in that it too can be ran GB off or on, but that it retains a great portion of the depth when on.

The area of concern for me is the 7 micro seconds. Is that a fixed setting or will it be variable? True...that would increase sensitivity to smaller gold but at the same time, would do the same for everything else small and low conductive. In dry or wet sand...probably not a problem to locate small targets. In the surf or water where you are scooping blindly and battling waves, you don't want to be chasing targets that are going to fall thru the scoop, and most definitely not gonna want to try scooping 19 inches deep while in the water. Water hunting is exhausting the way it is now...after a few 15+ inch holes in surf, I'd be done and back at the condo to sleep lol. It will be interesting to see if the same people that dissed the Nox for being over sensitivity to small targets, will praise the Mantra for that very same thing just because it's a different brand.

Not tethered to a battery anymore with ML GPX. I'm totally wireless.
