Some more pics for those who like such things...nothing that has not been already shown...but here they are for those interested.

8/18 date code....00002 version....00001 was the France version. Sent in a F75 box...so final box "could" be something similar.

(Notice the headphones...I know there was one guy bitching about how it should NOT come with headphones. It will come with 8 sets just for him...(there was 8 total...only 7 pictured). spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

Like I said...found gold first-day out with it. Never really used a PI before that. It's just.....(snap fingers).....that easy! cool smiley

Keep asking those questions!
Ive enjoyed your questions and Alexandres answers...thanks to both of you.
This is an informative discussion and an exciting machine.
The more info the better!! It gives me something to read while waiting for my own Impulse AQ

OK, so which type of waterproof headphone connection does it have?
Re: New Fisher Manta
March 20, 2019 10:17PM
I suspect Alexandre will have to tell us. I am certain however that it’s not any custom part, it will be some kind of off the shelf waterproof connector and therefore anyone can buy one and hook up the right leads and adapt whatever headset they want. After all FT, managed to hook a least 8 different units to it!!!

Whoever did the soldering job at FTP was perfect. Every last set looked like the headphones were factory made that way.

Just show the GOLD!!!!!!!

It was a thin 10K ladies band...very common. Seen one ya seen them all. I was not filming the hunt.

A guy saw me dig it...offered me $80 on the spot for it...I laughed him off but he was serious. Took it and bought dinner for me and the kids.

Same thing happened when my 67 yo mother found her first gold ring...a Raiders ring. A guy offered her $$ on the spot. She declined however...

HOW DEEP WAS THAT THIN GOLD RING?

Sorry for pictures quality ... (taken with a small smartphone)

That's what Denis found today. (> 1 oz)

He stays at the beach until Sunday (exceptional tides)

I am waiting for Denis to return home with more gold and better pictures, I will send you the continuation in high resolution ...

FIRST VIDEO FOR YOU

HRS® « HIGHLY REACTIVE SYSTEM »
Designed for all IMPULSE SERIES

HRS® is a technology that allows a very fast swing without causing a significant loss of sensitivity.

SECOND VIDEO FOR YOU

ZTS® « ZERO TARGET SEPARATION »
Designed for all IMPULSE SERIES

In recent years, all metal detectors in the world have been competing for minimum recovery speed with varying degrees of success.
The tests performed by our competitors are often demonstrated on high conductors: coins in bronze or silver.

We are all convinced that it is interesting to find coins, but it is better to concentrate and find gold.

The IMPULSE Series is equipped with ZTS® technology, the latter focuses on low conductors such as gold.

ZTS® breakthrough technology finds and separates GOLD on saltwater beaches like no other detector ever has before.

The ZTS® system eliminates the need for recovery speed.
We do not detect next to iron but in the iron and under the iron !

At the beach in a polluted zone (rip currents zone) this technology allows to find up to 30%* more targets mixed with a ferrous.
The ZTS® system is effective in TONE or MUTE mode, unlike the other competitor the loss of sensitivity is minimal compared to ALL-METAL mode.

* Finding done on 450 holes in TONE MODE in a beach rip currents polluted area.

ZTS breakthrough technology finds and separates GOLD on saltwater beaches like no other detector ever has before

THIRD VIDEO

ZPT® « ZERO PRESSURE TECHNOLOGY »
Designed for all IMPULSE SERIES

ZPT technology distributes the torsion, traction and shock forces due to the swing of the coil.
Vibrations and oscillations of the moving coil are damped.
The position of the ears at the center of gravity facilitates the fast swing allowed by the IMPULSE series.
The "paddle" effect is avoided for an optimal underwater swing.

Looks like some gold rings just may be sitting ducks using this baby.

Like to see how detector reacts to steel bottlecap - solo.
And in the nails like (similar) in video done with ring above.

And how detector reacts to a ring made of steel and or iron. (Fully closed) not broken.

Obviously what I want to know is it conductivity the detector sees and behaves the ways it does.
Or is it shape of target that makes detector behave the way I does. Or a combo of both?

A fence staple (horseshoe shaped would be a good target to sweep and see how detector behaves.

A US nickel in nails like gold ring depicted in video innthe nails would be nice to see too.

YES these are some of the things folks want to see/know before they leap. I think.

HOW DEEP WAS THAT THIN GOLD RING?

About 7-8 inches. Hits the same sized ring at 12 inches in gold claim dirt...screaming loud signal. I'd have dug deeper but hit bedrock. 6 bar dirt on the F75/T2 scale.

Re: New Fisher Manta

It's only conductivity except for special targets, but it does not avoid the same traps as on the VLF, BBS

US nickel or ring in this material is not rejected.

US nickel or ring inside nails is detected

Beer caps like on VLF or BBS it depends if they are new or rusty.

A fence staple is discriminated, rejected.

A closed iron ring, it cuts and at the same time it rings slightly. (we never find this at the beach, 1 time out of 50 detection days)

We can find stainless steel rings sometimes from boats, stainless steel is not discriminated nor rejected

The IMPULSE AQ is not a coin shooter. (i.e. high conductor targets)

The IMPULSE AQ is create to find gold and only gold without wasting time ! its motto : Find gold and do not dig the rest…

However, it detects very well the high conductors in All Metal mode only. With a high enough iron reject setting to cut the iron, most high conducting targets will be discriminated out.

There is no hole in conductivity like some competitors. And he loses almost no depth in his modes of discrimination.

An experienced prospector can use All Metal mode to detect and discriminate ferrous metals, as most ferrous metals (> 90% of targets) emit a double beep.

Le.Jag for example detects only in all metals mode and yet he does not dig on any ferrous ! The result he gets leaves us speechless.. smoking smiley

I will make videos! But we will have to wait, I have a lot of work, and I make these videos on my free time ... eye rolling smiley

Please remind me the last time a metal detector designer went on a forum to talk directly to folks about his design.

I think the Equinox guy did so in a video interview - that’s good.

Dave Johnson has done so several times over the last decade on forums.

Now we have it again. A good thing.

Fisher has a tiger by the tail here. Not out of the usual top class stable in El Paso, a Gallic import. Focused narrowly on a problem. Very much in the way that ML’s nugget machines were in their own lane. That’s something new for Fisher and it will be very interesting to see how they roll it out. That they are OK with Alexandre joining the dialogue here is, in my view, a very hopeful sign.

Nice that he choose our little corner of the world to share his insight with.

Rick -- That is actually a more common thing now days (designer coming on the forums to answer questions, and discuss their creation). Troy Galloway was one of the first to do it, talking about his Shadow machines. If you called the company phone, it was Troy himself who answered most all the time. Since then, there have been several others. Most recent to come to mind is the MDT 8000 detector and before that, the Blisstool designer. In my other hobbies, that is a very rare thing but at least in metal detecting, it seems to be fairly common. Thats a good thing in some ways but bad too, in that I've seen some forum members be so big of a thorn in the flesh that it ran some of the people off.

After 3rd day of research

Here 1150 USD in 3 days (reselling value of the 18K au by the weight)

Unfortunately he did not find coins, no US nickel in addition! (laughs) ;-))

its motto : Find gold and do not dig the rest…

All the targets are placed on the hard bottom of the beach between 40 and 50cm and they cannot go down any further.
Denis chose these beaches for that. The competition is out at this level of depth

I will keep you informed of the continuation, he is at the beach until Sunday! wait and se (a)
