Ok.... then they could adjust the cut off on disc for high K gold right? Obviously if we have to give up really small gold .... let’s not do it for the heavy stuff.
Re: New Fisher Manta

It’s not a “gain this loose that” arrangement. Your minimum pulse delay sets the point at which you get the first earliest sample, and thus the weakest signals you can detect. Increasing the iron mute chqnges how the first sample and the second sample are compared, processed, etc. only. I would explain exactly how this is arranged except....

1. I don’t know

2. If I did know, I would be betraying a confidence to tell - and then there are those guys in Juarez - lol

Rick ain’t I talking more about the way it’s handling HIGH conductors....or not? Closing them out of the disc range is leaving the heaviest gold in the trough. Unless Fisher doesn’t believe there is enough of this High K gold to worry about. I believe here in Fl we maybe seeing high K tourists more than previously.

Dew,

I just realized that you probably never saw this post by LE.JAG over on Steve Herschbach’s forum. This should answer your questions about 24k (and knowing you lead to your asking 3 or 4 new questions! Lol).

Here’s what he posted a couple of weeks ago...and note when he says towards the end “under the iron” he means getting a good signal with the detector set in iron mute or multitone
And the ring beneath some (unspecified) amount of iron.

“everyone can give their opinion
or ask questions / it's not a problem
it's just that I'm a little tired
to always repeat the same thing ...

a scoop for the forum
the latest changes now allow
detect a 24 carat ring
weighing less than 5 gr (no ring 24k heavier to test ...)

under a big nail / or several small nails
if you have a ring 24k try with your detectors

it's impossible / even tdi (modif Reg Sniff) can not do it (22K is its limit )

it will be a very specific setting
that I would explain in video

this extraordinary feat?
detect the 24k under the iron
gives you an idea of the level of separation, gold / iron”

No........ didnt see it. Thanks.

"the latest changes now allow

Here we go....... more questions..... no im good lol. Besides, i was told to stop asking so many questions or Fisher wont ever get this machine out. I figure IF it can get 24k under iron it SHOULD be able to get it out there all alone. My concerns was id go over such a valuable heavy gold target in AM.... but discard it if i switched to disc and it disappeared. Is he saying there is a trick to it... or was that to get the ring under iron? WHY would he be more concerned with a HEAVIER 24K ring over a smaller one? The smaller the better id think......thats a lot more impressive. Sounds like they are tweaking away. Hopefully ...... working on a 9" coil as well.... and a little more waterproofing depth. Oh ....I sure did like that military discount ML gave....hint hint.

Not sick, just enjoying our last 10 days in Norway. The only detector I brought with me is a Sovereign XA that I got from Keith Southern. Weather has been lousy and I have spent very little time detecting.

It's been over a month of silence, so I guess we won't hear from LE JAG till we see the "AQ",............... I see this silence as a good sign...thumbs down

OK - I swear the AQ ain’t no cheap California wine, but the classic Olson Wells commercial for Paul Masson, is probably in line with the thinking of the “gnomes” in El Paso. When it’s ready, it will be ready.

However, will it be like a “fine wine”?

For what it is meant to do - I believe it will be literally “ground breaking”.

What I believe and what other careful serious hunters will decide will be thrashed out when they reach the folks who are prepared to spend more than average for what claims to be a world class tool for a specialized job.

The best time to beach hunt in NH is winter so I'm hoping to get mine by Christmas. In the summer we take a vacation from hunting and let the fresh drops get covered up by the incoming sand. We don't really start hunting the beaches until after the storms start happening in the fall. By late spring, the sand is coming in again and everything gets covered up.

I agree, December,.......... Cold weather I hate but for sure the best tides and a lot less hunters to deal with.

Around here, winter to early spring is when most people beach hunt. Very few hunt in the summer because there's usually not much to find.

In the summer, you can travel the entire coast of NH at any time of day and if you were lucky you might see three or four detectorists. In the winter after a good storm, I've counted as many as two dozen guys just hunting one beach.

I don't mind the cold as long as it's above 20 degrees.

Yes the tides there are extreme on the NE coast ( I remember dropping as much as 8 feet, loved it ! ), here the tides are not as good..... only op is to hunt in the water, summer or winter. 99% can't handle the cold water. When the water hits the 40's everyone disappears, I can do about 5 hours at the most with my setup in 30 degree waters. Something that concerns me with the Fisher "AQ"

Time to bring this up again. Got Tom doing a little review on the Nox. I’d sure like to see him get an AQ BEFORE they are released to test and review. We tend to get a lot more quality info on how to use the machine and it’s settings....and he has an established test garden and the perfect location... treasure coast. OR DID THE PROJECT die? If he don’t have one I’m thinking Christmas time frame maybe out. I really want this machine for winter and spring hunting BEFORE recent drop time to get to learn it.
Re: New Fisher Manta

It ain’t here - but it ain’t dead.

Winter may be a great time to hunt, based solely on what you guys tell us.

Maybe you will get a break.

Re: New Fisher Manta

It’s just a different type of hunting. More near shore movement and drops. Sand can move with North winds and larger tide swings. What was beach....can be underwater pulling targets out.

Toms alway has some well thought out input.....which generates a lot of thought. This machine might have been out a year and a half ago had they not borrowed his Eric Foster tuned machine for comparison I believe. Turn abouts fair play ... he should get there machine at least for a short time don’t ya think Rick? This machine I hope will be awesome for my Gulf hunting.

Also Rick you mentioned it not doing well for 24k.... but I thought they fixed that?
Re: New Fisher Manta
September 25, 2019 10:49PM
Does anyone think the AQ will be deeper than a Minelab GPZ 7000?

I've seen a couple of those used on the Treasure coast. When we are sanded in even those don't get the goodies.
Re: New Fisher Manta
September 26, 2019 12:18AM
Robo ....if u have 3’ of sand over targets....nothing’s going to get it. But let half that sand move....you might get into some of um way before people with less depth.
