Hey ozz man

here's what the guy says
-------------------------------------------

Selling my Los Banos CZ-3D that has been calibrated and certified at 12.0" by NASA Tom Dankowski. Certified "design intent" examples of this legendary detector are in high demand and don't come up for sale very often, if you've been looking for one here is your opportunity.

This detector is indeed very deep in the field and in perfect working condition with moderate cosmetic wear. Only items of note are minor: handgrip wear with small pieces of sponge missing and the coil cover has a couple slight sidewall cracks that I noticed when I removed it. I sent this unit in to FT for repair in 2016 and they replaced a component and the coil.

When I sent the detector in to Dankowski for calibration after the repair, he calibrated it and certified the detector at 12.0 stating: "This unit is quite stable, powerful.........and is a 'true' representation of the entire intent of the CZ-3D platform."

Package includes detector with 8" coil, coil cover, original manual, Dankowski provenance papers, original box.

$625 double box shipped CONUS. Payment by Paypal F&F or USPS money order.

No trades.

Thanks MRH and thanks Harold. I have a 1021 Dankowski calibrated at 12.2 and was wondering what they are bringing these days just in case I had to ditch it to buy the latest and greatest....lol

Harold, yes I did, thanks for reminding me.

I remember that too, Ozzie. It was exciting just seeing and reading about when you found it. It was a $5 if I remember correctly. That and the $2.50 are the denominations that circulated most and the cz-3d brings those up to high tone in the enhanced mode instead of mid-tone like most detectors.

I like the comprehensive description given by the seller...It tells a lot about his integrity....not looking for a CZ just a comment....

The 2.50 Gold coin reads Square pull tab Mid tone.
It pushs it up one category from round pull tab.
The most circulated 5.00 Gold coin is the High tone zinc.
It still eliminates a lot of digging. I have owned every Model CZ in almost 20 Years and the CZ-3D has always been My Fave. As soon as I read Tom's prototype report I called Brian at Southern Treasures and had Him hold Me one when they were ready for sale. I have had 6 since
And will always have a 'Proper' one.
To some it's a Dinosaur but so am I so it's a perfect fit.

Thank you, Dan. I wouldn't have listed it if I wasn't willing to sell it, but it's definitely mixed emotions. Every time I sell one, I seem to pick up another within the year.

Right you are about the quarter eagle, Harold. Thanks for the correction.

Yep marcomo, good memory, it was a half eagle, 1885.....looked like it was in high heat because the surface was (for the lack of a better word), rippled. go-rebels thought it may be a fake so I got it weighed at a jewelers and it was spot on what the $5 gold coin should be. It did ring high tone..but yes Harold is correct on the $2.50 tone.
