I just figured out why I don't get many hits on my videos

I have been making them all wrong.......I guess this is how you have to make metal detecting videos to get the half million hits....The first minute should be enough.

I agree with Dave, your equipment isn't preferable.... Her vid's are much bouncier.
Maybe you should rent some better equipment wjs......we would love to critique/examine it.

Yes, everything is more pleasant to view with a British accent! wjs if you watch enough Downton Abbey I bet you could sound just like her. It certainly helped their ratings! On a technical side I like to be able to see the face of the detector and hear the beeps. On an unrelated observation how on earth do some Brits manage to stay so fair skinned and not sunburn like the devil? Maybe there is another video on proper application of sunblock for detectorists.

There is a couple who have been detecting a little over a year where the lady is very nice looking. They are great self promoters, use a lot of different detector, probably provided by the manufacturer and they are even in the current White's catalog.

The secret is to have a nice looking lady in the video. Most detectorists are older guys...

This couple had only been detecting for a few months when they were part of the "team of experts" Whites flew to the factory to discuss metal detector future designs. This was not a team of expert detectorists but a team of expert marketing.

Yep. I have nothing against them personally. In fact they seem like good people. But you don't design new machines with people that just started detecting......

Diggin' Britt spoof


If people were to drive by and see a camera guy and her down in a ditch dressed like that, they'd probably think they were filming an adult film or something down there. I think that is the angle the spoof was doing with the guy pulling up in the truck. Hahah

Now as far as the SilverSlingers....uggh. That woman gets on my nerves to no end. I never even knew about them until I read a post here talking about how bad they were; so I had to go see for myself. Boy where they right. I have to ask...out of all the many good/great YouTube video people out there...WHY did Whites pick THEM? I am reminded of the comedy bit with Jeff Foxworthy talking about people from the south. He says something to the effect of "The south has some of the most intelligent people in the country in it...but it's always the dumbest ones that seem to make it on TV" It's like the news people go scouting around looking for the worse dressed, stupid looking people to put in front of the camera to interview. I can only reason that something similar happened when Whites picked the SilverSlingers out of the YouTube pot. I guess someone over there figured that Garrett had the two guys that ran around like crazy...so Whites found somebody that would match that running around stuff, and raise it with a pair of mediocre C cups and barely legible English.

BUT...kudos to them for getting Jocelyn the Relic Recoverist on board. She usually doesn't make incredible finds but how many of us actually do on everyday hunts? She has one of the more "real" channels out there.

There are a few I really like to watch and some I can't stand. I guess everybody else is the same way. I HATE the bait to click videos out there. Some of the worse are the videos by the "Depths of History". I sort of liked his videos at first but now I can't stand him or the videos.

Anyway...keep doing what you have been doing Bill. Your videos are great as they are.

Bill just needs to put on an Elvis outfit to get more hits on his vids. He already has the voice for it. Oh and I never got to say thanks for the time and effort you put in those vids too. Not too many people out there that shows the target sound characteristics before the item is dug. To me that is the most important. Also removing all ferous items from the hole just to see what else was down there with the target and why something might sound odd or have a jumpy reading. Thanks!

OK, if you all want, I'll pt on a bikini and do a detecting video......
