Oh well, even spam has its uses. My dad was in the south-west Pacific in late 1942 and 1943 - a Seebee - Esperitu Santo and Guadalcanal. He tolerated spam once in a while at home in the “50’s as I recall - Mutton, on the other hand was “Verboten”. Seems all the meat they got in the Southwest-Pacific was frozen Australian Mutton in burlap bags - not gourmet dining.

Don’t recall him saying what they had for TP (oops, there I go again - call Mr. Whipple).

My dear wife is from Norway and “leverpostei’ is a staple spread for bread in Scandinavia. Tastes pretty god on a Danish style open+Facebook sahcwivh on dark rye bread with some slices of “Bread and butter” pickles or a bit of thin sliced onion on top.
