Coil squeal

On my F75 ltd see any object closer than 2 inches to the coil (5")begins to squeal. I have read and re-read the instructions but can't figure out why it does this. Is the (2") the normal operating distance from the coil?

How does your pinpoint work???

Sounds like this is a new to you unit,,correct??

Meaning you have never seen this particualr detector behave differently??

Have you changed process modes and checked,,,so it does it in all processes,,by, de,Je, Pf, etc

Has good batteries in it??

How does All metal sound off with target close to coil???

well overload on a F75 is not a squeal..its a wah wah wah sound.

Put it in allmetal and see what it does..

is it a DST model??

If so try switching to 9.1 to 9.0 if not a DST do a reset..

Within 2" of the coil, it squeals. Not a steady sound like an MXT, Tesoro, etc.

No, I can't. I went to the dealer in Ft Worth and checked another machine. When the number of tones fall below 3 the squeal/overload is heard I can do an audio and send it to you if you will PM me with you mailing address.

I'm having a hard time,,following here.

Did the detector at dealer do what your does??

Did you take your unit to dealer and let them look at and try??

Yes, the dealer machine does exactly the same thing. Any tone setting below 3 gives a squeal when the target is closer than 2 inches.

You know,,,I have since gotten rid of my F75se that was upgraded to DST unit.

I don't remember my unit doing as you say.

How big a target does it take when closer than 2" to make the detector squeal.

Less than dime size upward.
