What is you best metal detector for relic hunter and why does it preform better that your other machines?

LowBoy

TAKE A LITTLE TIME KICKBACK AND WATCH SOME OF MY DETECTING VIDEO'S BELOW ON YouTube

If you don’t dig it, then how are you going to know what you’re missing!
How can you have your pudding if you don’t eat your meat!

Although there are some really great machines on the market I still use the MXT's for a couple of reasons , Being they have the history of being the best VLF machine for finding Gold and they seem to be preferred to be the choice of American Civil War relic hunters, but with the amount of coils that are out there for them allows me to adapt it to suit any conditions and of coarse to gain maximum depths,

To close to call:

Lobo ST with 5.75 & 8"concentric coils. My modded (ground balance adjusted internal) As weak as the Lobo's are, when you adjust the gb they come alive. Goes deep and has great separation in iron. You can tell by the sound if it's iron or a good target. This detector will never leave me. lol

Deeptech Gold Gain. 1 or 2 tone. Deep mode. Is the quietest detector I've ever ran in iron.

Gold Kruzer. The small coil surprised me on depth and it pulls targets right on the edge of iron.

I'm leaving my Equinox 800 out of the best relic hunters because I like to dig iron relics. Yes this detector will hit larger iron relics but misses the smaller iron relics.

Rick

My detectors:
Lobo ST
Deeptech Gold Gain
Gold Kruzer
Equinox 800

Yeah I forgot about the Lobo, when they came out they kind of set the benchmark and they are also a great prospecting machine too,

Great out in the water too with the 8" concentric with long cord.

Vista Gold Gain with super 6 coil in heavy iron trash.
XP Deus with 9in high frequency
Tesoro Mojave or Vaquero with 5.75 concentric

Im not a dedicated relic hunter, but the detector that has found the most relics in iron has been the old Gold Mountain King Cobra...modified with threshold and GB. The Cobra is not the deepest or fastest. Still finds most of my keepers. Trash to goodies ratio is great.....very little trash. Not the best at finding coins, but had a slightly choppy signal that turned out to be an Indian head penny in the same hole as a rusty horseshoe....still having broken nails. Just good analog fun. The Vista models are good too.

Hard to say why a detector performs better.
Wish I could see all the critters running around inside of a detector. Lol

Maybe find more things in certain sites would be a reason.
Ergo could play a part too.

More ground covered by a faster reacting detector could offset (even though technically it's inferior) to a heavier and or slower detector.
It's what is in the pouch that counts.

So any detector model really could be a person's barn burner.
