All at or little over 12". And indoors also. They all had Proper Tone and I.D. Tom Tuned this one a few Years back. You gotta' love the Modulated Audio as the Coin gets farther away. Believe it or not this is a First Texas unit.
So their are some Hot ones out there.

Got a Tom tuned CZ-3D that he certified at 12.2, its not a 1021 either.

Tom tuned cz3d I have is 12.3" on a dime 1021 with the 8" coil.......I'm the first owner......it's a keeper and I love it.

11.6" First Texas CZ-3D. It has polished aluminum on the end of the knobs, only one like it I've ever seen.

I just bought a cz 70 pro that TD calibrated and it is 12 inches. have not even used it yet. golf is on my plate but gonna hang onto this one (I hope I do anyway) lol

Sonny not to many digitals that hot. Must be One You can run up to 6 Sens. Without falsing.

I have a Tom tuned and certified 12" 1021 . They are a great machine at the proper sites.

It would be cool if Tom could chime in on how many CZs Total He had calibrated to 12" or Better.
I know He keeps strick records.

I take it that it is "hit & miss" whether you will get a get a "hot" CZ-3D when buying one new now-a-days.-----The way I understand it is that although he can certainly help in other areas, Tom can't do much to improve on the depth (at least in most cases) when he calibrates them.------Does anyone know what kind of depth to expect on an air test dime from a new CZ-3D?------Or is there a wide variance in them?-----------Del

I don't know as mine was used and bought it rite after the Buy out so probably has Los Banos parts if that makes a difference? I had Guy do a Air test before I bought it and it was over 11" to begin with. But nickel window was off so sent it to Tom. Otherwise would
Have left it alone. I have had 6 CZ-3D's through the years including a First run 1021 I bought New and this is only one as Hot and a little better in iron than 1021 I had.
The rest were not.

Congrats on the deep units fellows....hope you realize a lot depends on your ground and depths may vary...
Having used many CZ's over the years have had ones that didn't test deep but still hit deep silver on hunts.Nature of the beast I would guess...

I had as creamer CZ-3d ..looked rough but was way deep...close to 12.5+ on a dime. air test..Sold it to a guy in Tn on the cheap...

I've also seen some foot deep Los banos units on a dime..Like recent new one's

A couple of years ago Dave Johnson said that FT did a reboot on the CZ calibration process as it had challenges.

Not sure if that means CZs made in the past couple of years are hotter or ?

I didn't watch the video, but I believe Tom said a while back the hottest cz-3d he ever calibrated with the 8" coil to his dirt was 12.4"

12" is considered the benchmark for hot cz-3ds, give or take a few tenths of an inch.

Dave Johnson has stated that for a while after First Texas bought out Fisher they were unbeknownst to him using a shortcut process for calibrating the cz-3d that wasn't calibrating them properly.
