Thanks a lot.
Just goes to show, don’t be afraid to ask.

"just imagine, a GPX / Z in a box of equinox = waterproof"

What does that mean? From what i saw its going to be in a box similar to most waterproof PIs....... you arent saying they are trying to reduce the size and put it in a Nox style package? You were just saying its waterproof like the Nox? Otherwise ..... WOW..... no knobs this thing would be cool.........when they taking pre orders??? I dont want to grow an old man beard waiting thou.

Now Carl..... who id say im more than just interweb chatter did come on here and say...... "late fall or spring, but dont hold me to that". Like the Nox i think this will be a very interesting machine to have and play with. Id love to reduce my machines to just 2.

Hope they are testing now or real soon. Seems to me that fewer experienced beach hunters would have their spots to hunt when it gets cold. Though I do see some in dry suits until freezing other factors do come into play. Almost sounds like a early next year time frame. Need to test in the North Myrtle Beach area. They have replenished most of the beaches in Horry Co. and the last 3 to be done starting in late Sept and to finish in Dec if equipment holds up. So much trash in sand it drives you nuts on the 1 thru 5 area, bottle caps and pop tabs.

My hopes is Tom gets an early model to test and works with Fisher to make it all it can be. We have the temps for year round testing. Not crazy trashy either so there targets can be isolated easily in the wet sand. On Toms side of the island his salt content may very as well. If it dont work here .....it wont work. Few videos would be nice. Id sure like him to be allowed to talk freely as well..... it wont be for every water hunter but the pros and cons from some not trying to sell me something would be refreshing.

Keith. Guess he’s too dumb/blind to see that it’s “Manta" as in Manta Ray (that lives in the water and preys on food) and not Mantis as in the “praying bug”! That’s that extremely high IQ he claims to have at work there grinning smiley

No MRH my original title was in relation to praying mantis.
Some humor of sorts, and knowing how the praying Mantis fits in the big scheme of things in the world.

Everyone here knows your IQ is higher than mine is.
How?
Cause you told folks so.

I”ll take my chances with my IQ. Over yours.
BTW mine is between 60 and 160. I’m not elling though.
High enough though to get into your head.lol

Turns out this was a pretty good thread I thought anyway.

Hey, TNSS - enjoyed your “Mantis” link

‘Mantis Religiosa” there was an abnormally mean nun we had in the third grade - “Praying Mantis” would have been a good name for her!

I was an early enthusiast for the TDI and had lengthy contact with Reg Sniff about it - I paid full retail for one of the first ones and later had one which had all of Reg’s mods. The beautiful thing about the second one was the smooth threshold. I have had a couple of ML PI gold detectors and that warble drove me nuts. The TDI without Reg’s mods had a similar tendency. I have read the\at the TDI SL has a smoother threshold.

Mark LeJag’s words...”the perfect silence”

Thanks Rick.
The ironic thing is, when I first posted the title here, I infact did use preying in lieu of praying. But from the get to, I was thinking of the Mantis.
So I changed.
I oticed when reading, the Europeans thought the Mantis had special powers.
Sounds like this detector Manta might have some “special powers”.

I hope First Texas knocks it out of the park. They are due.

This CZX, don’t know what’s happening with it.

Well that's good that it works. If we see this at all, I bet it will be 2020.

Hey Beyonder - lunch money? I’ll take that bet payable in the silver quarter that a hamburger cost me at Blausers Pharmacy in San Antonio cost me in 1957. Fisher PI before 2020. How about it?

Apologies for double post, but WTH - let’s make it a hamburger and a “dime cherry limeaid” from the fountain - silver quarter and silver dime.

Del, my name is David.

Will I get one?
Can’t say just yet.
Drivers:
If more than $1500 nope.
If more than 4 lbs nope
If no wireless headphones nope.
If have to be tethered to anything, cord wise NOPE.

I am posting this info here for two reasons.
One is to answer your question, and I’ll let you guess the other reason.

EMI noise cancel feature should be included on any worthy higher performing (higher priced) VLF or pulse unit.
Makes detector more user friendly too.

We are talking mass produced over 10,000 plus units in customers hands by 1/1/2020?
Re: Where is the praying Manta??? (Some info posted here) by tester it seems
August 07, 2018 02:16PM
Beyonder, FT has never released sales figures, so your 10k units stipulation is un verifiable.

Here’s what you wrote “...If we see this at all, I bet it will be 2020” I’ll accept “in production and shipping to customers by 1 Jan 2020” as a reasonable definition of “see this at all”’

Are you in for a quarter and a dime or were you just having fun?

No I was willing to bet. The stipulation was IN customer hands by 1/1/2020. In other words, able to use them. I threw the 10,000 unit thing in there to mean that not just one person having it would fulfill the bets terms but the masses.
