The One that You wish You had back?

What Detector did You let go You wish You had back?
I wish I had the first run Nautilus IIBa with the thicker 8" Coil. Traded it in on the CZ-3D that came out at the time.
Don't get Me wrong as loved that
1021 CZ-3D but could not afford to keep both at the time.
I have had about 6 Nauty's since then with the thinner coil and seem to have issues that the thicker coil didn't.
Also seem to have better Modulation. And was made when Jerry Tyndall was still with the company. I found a 12" Indian head penny with it one time with the 8" Coil.
I had it over 3 years and it was smooth as silk no issues. I bet that Detector is still going strong today.
It was a goodun'.

honestly harold,i wished i kept the 6000 xl pro with the 6" coil!
even though it was a 4 filter detector,i could still have done well in the junk
over time with that combo!..and of course,it had that "dead nuts" accurate meter too!
(lol)....oh well! they say hindsight is 20-20!

CZ6a followed by a 1021 CZ3d. I also wouldn't mind having my original camo F 75 back. It was the deepest of the 3 I've had and still swing the 3rd....which seems to be deeper then the 2nd. HH jim tn

Oddly...none of them. I do occasionally buy and revisit some old favorites. Most of them are relatively available somewhere in cyber space. More often than not, the mind has a way of making things seem better than they actually were as time goes on. When you get one back in your hands and have the reality check of "hmm...this wasn't as good as I remember it being".

Hi JMARYT, I have a very nice 6000 Di Pro, with the 9" and 6" coils if you think you are interested, I can send you pic. to your email. Works fine. flintstone

Harold, I'm with you on the Nautilus 2ba! Wish I had mine back. It was deep, sensitive to small targets and gave a lot of audible information about what was under the coil. Next in line would be a early production CZ7apro that would sweep the beach clean of rings and coins.

I think for me its a Compass Gold Scanner Pro. Just a good all around detector. Fast, sensitive, great meter. I'd get another if they were available and could be repaired if necessary.

My very first Bandido2 micromax. I sold it to get a Vaquero back in 2003. I had another up until a few years ago but it was not as hot as my first one.

Nothing is more true than this for me as well....re-visiting ALOT of things doesn’t really ever seem to be “as good as it once was”. Detectors,cars,people....none of it. If you don’t have it in your life now, there’s probably a reason. And as far as detectors go,the ones that were “bad-ass” in the past probably couldn’t find much these days in public places. Time and technology march on,but not everybody is immune to the charming thoughts of the past. Most of that is very likely best left right there...in the past. As the quote goes...”The best you know is what you’ve had.” It doesn’t mean those past things would be any good RIGHT NOW. Maybe for some they would...just not me.

I have used quite a few as most of you have. I still have my Sovereign GT. Along with the Nox 600 I got what I want. Instead of going back in time I'll wait to see what comes out news wise in this Detectival thing. The Anfibio? Plus a Nox update down the road. So I say none. Some were great. The Deus....E Trac.....Impact....even the XL Pro with tone mods. But they would all be collecting dust. Yup.....I'm happy with what I have. Bring on the Manta.

Wish I still had my Explorer SE Pro, bonded real well with machine and loved the tones on it. If it weren't for the weight and issues with my hand, I would still be running it alongside my Deus.

Maybe an Equinox Explorer would be an appropriate replacement, Fe:Co numbers, Ferrous tones etc. all in a lightweight body - and no 12 ferrous line. winking smiley

As far as detectors go, there are none I wish I had back. My eliminator 6.59 khz Applied Creativity coil for a White's that was destroyed by a car tire, would be the only thing I wish I had back. I sure miss that coil. Been unable to find one for a pretty good while.....Someone out there have one for sale...sad smiley

Too heavy, with a bloated price make it a machine that never interested me.
Re: The One that You wish You had back?

I think some missed the point of the post. Its not the Old verses New. Its how some of the first run of certain models were the cream of the crop. Anyone who has owned and used a Nautilus model for more than a month, Old and New thin coil models, know there was a difference.
The same can Be said for the 1021 CZ-3D's as I know all will agree with that one as this is the designers Forum.
And I always thought the First run Etracs made in Ireland were smoother as had one New till the CTX came out. Did not like the CTX so sold it and Bought another Maylasia made one . It was only 2 weeks later so I did not forget how the last one ran. And I have ran into others who thought so.
So it's not a Nostalgia type thing. Its a model run type thing.
