I think ML have worked wonders with the Equinox and the GM-1000, they have managed to listen and give the people what they have been asking for and Not what they think they want, and Not a machine stuffed in to one of their cheaper models, Minelab have done really well and have made the most complete package out of all the current offerings So Good on them for that.

There will never be a perfect detector until there is a perfect detectorist.

Its like anything else....... please as many as you can because you wont please um all. We'd all like customized detectors..... that aint going to happen. Most machines have growing pains when they first come out especially those that go in the water. No one likes repairs..... no one. Thats why a lot of us have taken the ....... lets give it time before i spend my money attitude. We never know how much hardware or software gets changed during the testing of a detector. Id hope they feel all the bugs are out of um before they put them on the street and we arent doing the testing...... because we arent seeing a lot of changes after the fact. Sooooo are these changes being silently made......... if so is the second batch better than the first? I dont like bean counters who say...... dont tell them unless they have a problem..... let them figure out there is one...then be the hero and fix it.

Metal detectors should be tested prior to public sale. These proto-types should be used extensively in or out of the water, as it was designed. If these tests were already being done, why are there so many bugs or leaks on new models we the consumer paid for???..............Yes the warranty should cover repairs, but man what a pain. As an example:: The At-Pro fiasco was ridiculous....it took almost 4 months for the recall to be announced. All the while still blaming us aggressive hunters as being part of the problem. Are we paying to be guinea pigs......basically Testers?? Hopefully things have changed since then. Just don't understand how this could happen. Car manufactures have recalls, so not impossible. Okay..done venting...lol

Electronics can be fickle...... and not everyone takes great care of their equipment. I think the Nox was a good example of it not being dunked enough...... didnt even had the headphones to do it. BUT .... there hasnt been a huge amount of issues. Ive found it takes some time to know how a machine really works or if there are problems until it gets in the hands of a diverse group of hunters.
