I finally own an F19 but there is one problem....

It's pink! Never thought I'd own a pink detector but it was such a great deal I couldn't pass it up. Pink actually makes more sense than the green camo if you think about it. What if you set it down somewhere, walk off and forget where you put it? It would be much harder to find than the pink Maybe I'm just trying to justify having a girls detector but I'm excited nonetheless. My buddy told me to spray paint but it really doesn't bother me to go through that kind of trouble. Got any tips for me? If you search for "F19" on this forum, nothing shows up in the search results. That's crazy because I know there has been alot of discussion about this detector.

F19 is one of my favorite Fishers...I've written a bunch on here about it myself..

Three letters isnt enough info for the Search engine on the forum so Google is a Good avenue.

One nice thing about having a "Pink" detector is that if you leave it at the hunt site by accident, it will probably be there when you come back. Who's going to walk off with a "Pink" detector...

Sorry buddy, I couldn't help it. Actually, I wanted to try one of those as I've heard a lot of good things about them, and from what I've read, they hunt above their pay grade...

I'd have to paint it a different color, can't stand the color pink unless a woman is wearing it......must be a hate from the Pepto Bismol days.

Liked the F19 but wouldn't use it as 'an everyday' machine (that I repeated to the dealer who loaned me the machine for testing and he hasn't spoken to me since)...

Get one of the 13" coils for it, either the Ultimate or the NEL, either one. You'll like it. What headphones are you going to pair with it?

I'll look into getting a bigger coil. Right now I'm using some no name head phones a friend was kind enough to give me. It's probably a set that comes with a package deal from Kellyco or something...

It would be OK if your name was Floyd.

Mike is spot on about the 13" coil. I put a NEL 12"x13" Tornado coil on my G2+ and it is working great!

Ok so there was another problem besides it being pink. This detector was an earlier one made in 06/14 and I noticed it really didn't perform well in airtest. The most I could get on a clad dime was 6 1/2 inches. I called Fisher and they told me to send it in to get tested. Yesterday I got it back with a letter stating there was a problem found and they basically swapped out all the guts and assigned a new serial #. What a difference now! Yesterday with EMI present it was hitting a dime at 9 1/2 inches. I know that's still not a depth monster but I'm now confident this detector is operating correctly. The Audio seems to have been improved too. Fisher really took care of me in this situation. I bought this dector used with no warranty and I was ready to shell out some cash but they just went ahead and fixed the problem and sent it back in a timely manner. That's some good customer service if you ask me.

First Texas is OK! You might consider a matching purse to carry your finds...
It might cut down on people stopping to ask you dumb questions... or... not.
Just have fun and don't keep it in the closet.

Glad First Texas was able to fix the F19. Did you by chance ask if they would "fix" the color to something not so flashy ?. I hear the pink camo F19 is a favorite in San Francisco.....lol. Seriously tho, might be able to get a screen cover to tame it down a little. Most really like this machine, so worth keeping.

Historically, pink has not been considered particularly feminine.

It only happened after WWII when Madison Avenue started pushing pink as a girl's color.
