I would guess it has to do with security detectors more than hobby. Schools are doing more and more of this. Is that a 3d printed gun in your pocket, or, are you just glad to see me?

A badly researched article. Purely USA centric.
Completely ignored most of the other 'players' from the UK, "C Scope", "Viking", and those from "The Russian Federation", "AKA": from Turkey, "Not/Makro" etc.

Do you have anything to hand for 2019...Lol.....

The threat of 3d printed guns is grossly over rated. To ignite the primer in the cartridge takes a metal firing pin, to say nothing of a metal chamber and barrel to contain and direct the bullit. 3d printers are not cheap, whatsmore, like ink for your printer, the material the printer would use to build the guin is expensive. A viable, multi use gun from plastic is unrealistic.
