Fully charged iphones, freshly dropped coins, charged cameras etc, where do i find a river like this??

We all been watching him grow up. He's cleaning up the river. Must be a high traffic stream for tubers, kayak's etc.

Yeah,Beau Omuiette does the same(I’m sure you’ve seen his stuff) and there are certain areas where,if something is going to get tossed overboard during a river trip, stuff collects due to currents. It’s crazy what’s in the right place,or even in the right river!

Ghound, a cultural difference between what we do here as beach access is so easy but some states are landlocked so people hang out on the river.
When I lived in Pittsburgh, we hung out on their "Three Rivers" a lot: the Oakmont area is popular.
Detected Oakmont Park too and met a fellow Garrett user there and we became good friends as he worked close to where I was working.

At 8.17 in, I remember testing the waterproof integrity of the CTX in a very similar waterfall!

S'funny but a friend recommended an "Olympus Tough" waterproof camera exactly the same as the first camera he found!!!"

At one time I watched him. I admired his courage for going into broken down houses and his passion for the hobby. To be honest the religion thing turned me off. To each his own. I wish him well.

there are two more young guns coming up they are Britain Lockhart and Riley Bryant. These young men have applied themselves to this hobby and are finding lots of good stuff. I would imagine the average age of our hobby is 55-60 and mostly men. As for the rivers, yes look for high traffic tubers, kayaks and fishing and other boat traffic. I have had two sail boats and have problem lost grill parts, lots of tools and more than a few pairs of sunglasses in the lake. Never lost a cell phone but came close. fell out of my shirt pocket (dumb place to put it) and it this the rail and bounced in the boat instead of out of the boat. a fraction of an inch the other way and it would be deep sixed.

I used to enjoy watching his videos years ago (especially the water videos with him and Abbey thumbs down ) but it seems like he ran out of interesting places to detect, and then you had a sermon before and after his hunts, I just lost interest. Same thing with Auquachigger....when he was detecting for Civil War relics (and who can forget the incredible river crossing hoard that he found!), but now it seems they've run out of interesting places to detect.

I've met Nugget and hunted with him before. His on camera personality and his "in person" personality are quite different. He is very humble and quiet in person...if not a little backwards and shy. He doesn't preach or deliver a sermon in his videos either. It's a simple verse or text that can be skipped over if it bothers you that bad. It never bothered me. I do think some of his finds are salted though. Especially that gold nugget on his Alaska trip. I've found electronic things in the water and none of them have ever worked. But that's just me. I live just 20 mins from the river the 1996 Olympic whitewater games were held. It has been a popular whitewater area for decades. AquaChig did a video there a year or two ago and didn't find anything. I've never found anything there either and you would think it would be a hotspot. Thousands come down it every summer.

Some of the Tube videos and TV shows are really advertisements for particular brand detectors. If you see someone broadcast Only using brand X detector....and wearing the brand on shirts and hats, chances are its a commercial. Might be paid or given free equipment.
Re: nuggetnoggin

They are called “Content Creators” in the trade. They build a following, a manufacturer takes an interest - pretty soon they start getting sponsored in cash or in kind. All perfectly legit - especially if they disclose their sponsorship.

It's Bill Ladd. He takes pot shots at her and even the Hoover Boys and their "newbie juice" as he calls it. Personally I think it's funny, he's just a bit full of himself, but he's a good, seasoned detectorists.

I agree...you said it better than I did. I assumed the commercials were legal. Some Tubers don't disclose their sponsorship. Probably not too many would click on a video labeled as "Commercial". On TV we have commercials, but shows/movies use specific brand products (also a type of advertisement). We really can't get away from it. It has been going on for years....the 1960's Andy Griffith Show used mostly Ford automobiles....Ford Motor Company was a sponsor. Count how many brand products are within the movie Talladega Nights.....tons. I might be posting the obvious. As for me, there are Tube video creators that I no longer follow because they stopped using a variety of different brand machines.

I've also met Bill Ladd. He is another one that is different on video than in person. In person he is like one of those little dogs that is terrified and flinches at everything that moves fast or makes a noise. On his videos he tries to act like a gangsta..again, like one of the little dogs that barks big and bad from behind a fence. Haha. I picture a little Yorkie dog. He finally quit coming to the big hunts...I guess he was afraid of somebody jumping him from running his mouth. Jealousy is what hit him the hardest. At one time he was a big center of attention...making magazine cover shots, in the loop on new products, etc. Then others came and took that spotlight from him and he harbors quite a root of bitterness from that.

The other thing to consider is that these guys and gals were making some side cash on their video views...for advertisements, subscribers, etc. Thus all the young guns setting the videos up for click bait....the exact reason I can't stand Britain or Riley. Over use of the words "awesome, amazing, and incredible"...especially when it's just a shot bullet they end up finding or some crap like that. Before YouTube changed the payment structure, if they had enough views and subscribers, they could have been bringing in $20 - 30 thousand a year. I have a buddy that has a channel with a ton of viewers and subscribers (non metal detecting) and he once told me he was making about $40k a year off his videos, hats, and t shirts. That's more than some make locally in their day to day jobs. I don't think the detecting videos are popular enough to generate that kind of money but heck....just $5000 or even $1000 a year would help with buying new gear.

Ahhhhh, ok, I haven't watched one of his videos in a while and I barely watched him, because often, like this video, he acts like a drunk frat boy, and is pretty full of himself from his one season TV show. He tends to think he paved the way for everyone on YouTube. Here is what I just watched where he acts like a constant mental handicap. Reading through his replies in the comments to a bunch of his videos, his jealousy is shining through big time.

I don't mind Relic Recoverist, at least she gets dirty and generally looks like she loves detecting from the research to the dig. One channel I think is a joke is She Detector, that woman doesn't have barely a clue what she is doing, and cracks me up with her high legged rubber boots everywhere and how she doesn't like to get dirty.

I guess we all have different tastes when it comes to detecting videos. I watch very few. While I do like watching gold come out of the sand, most of the people doing videos just don't say anything I want to hear.

I don't watch the garrett fan boys. I don't like their products and don't want to see a paid video promoting them. I do use a garrett carrot but not their detectors.
