I don't believe this spot has been farmed for quite a spell, at least since the civil war. The reason I say this is because it's all woods no signs of plow rows and there are 6 or 7 rifle pits scattered throughout all intact. The ground reads 3 bar dirt most everywhere with 2 bars in some places. Don't know whether that's the reason the coins come out toasted or not, especially nickels.
