Oh no someone said something about my detector.

I think the problem was more like - he had a bone to pick...

The detector was either defective or set up way wrong. Your tone was confrontational and argumentative.

Are you surprised that some folks were not pleased?

You apparently have a successful small business. Just a suggestion - treat your You Tube audience with the same care and consideration you give your customers.

My comment had nothing to do with any brand of detector - just the video - which happens to be about the Tesoro Cibola - if something else is going on here, someone will have to explain it to me.

It is quite apparent WHY "comments are disabled" for your videos.

There has never been a more ButtHurt group than several of the ObNoxers that are well known to all.

Ok about my comments being disabled. I work, hunt, shoot videos, and participate on the forums and I don't have time to answer comments on youtube. Its not like people cant come to the forums and comment,,,,,,

"I don't have time to answer comments on youtube".

I'm quite certain that most of the comments would Not be in Question form.

Just like you guys post here ! Whats the difference?

That response over on another thread is a very gracious way to say you don't care for a certain brand of detector.

You should spend a little more time with that guy, Calabash.

I'll never be a detecting guru, I don't have the desire, skill, time or temperament.

But you could be someday. You certainly have the desire, skill and time. Pay attention to how gurus like Tom Dankowski, Keith Southern and Monte Berry post and respond. You'll see them talk about detectors they don't care for, especially Monte. But you'll never see them mock someone for using a detector they don't like.

I like to stir the pot a little.....that's a character defect of mine.

The problem I found with YouTube video comments is that there are too many filthy mouthed people that post comments. I keep my channel content G rated...family oriented. And people will still take it upon themselves to fill the comments with cursing, links to porn sites, and personal attacks on me and other commenters. If you enable comments, you have to stay up on them and keep them moderated or the filth will take over like kudzu and fire ants. For people with big channels and tons of views, that is a hard row to hoe. I do not envy ya'll at all!! I keep mine open with the option of being approved or not approved. I get so few viewers though when I post a video to my new channel that it's really not so big of a deal anymore like it use to be on my first channel. I only do that to be able to answer questions people might ask about different detector comparisons or settings, etc.

I keep my channel family friendly too. Actually have my youtube account on restricted mode as I dont want to see all the garbage.

It is beyond childish now.
Just don't hope you turn off your fan base.

It's your you tube vid, your time, your dime. Do what you feel is best. Stir the pot a little, gets those flavors to come out. I enjoy you personality....keep up what you're doing.

Even if I lose my fan base my grandkids adore me and that's what counts..... Online is not a life changing place for me .

Comment on youtube depend of the community, some are ok some arent.

For metal detecting ,i got a lot of personnal dis on my video , because there alway somebody that will tell you that you dont know how to use this machine and you dont have the right setting , like it was complicated ( im coding web application all day, so setting a md isnt complicated ) .
There are as well some people that tell you cant show, you have to keep it secret .
Most of them dont publish video and dont share anything exept their hate toward you.

You could have debated over the kind of people that get in love with their machine , most of them are totaly biased because they are scared of experimenting with other machine.
It is due mostly to the fact they are not comfortable with technology , so they settle on a machine they understand and for them its the best one , and i respect that but what i dont is people dissing other because they convinced themselve of something.

You can apply that to a lot of thing, even for life.

After very carefull consideration, several days of reading threads, several of my own time consuming replies, babies crying and adults who can’t read manuals.

Just goes to show you.

Those manufacturers will just about sell to anybody :-)

they don't have to!..they KNOW that all detectors will find good stuff especially in the hands of one who knows it! , ..beware of the man who is proficient with "one brand" of detector,for he KNOWS his instrument well!

Many people highly respect Keith and Monte inputs ....not to mention Tom D's What is their opinions on the Nox and Deus??
