Seems White’s went poof over at ‘other’ forum.

Don’t know why.
But all subforums gone presently.



Don’t know if this is a glitch, is temporary or permanent.
But looks like currently, doing google searches with white’s model detectors with findmall.com in search window still accesses findmall server, and info is provided.

I think that’s what happened to Tesoro too when they renamed it the Beep and Dig

Cutting the ad budget is generally a bad sign of things to come.

Findmall was never setup to promote or to perpetuate our beloved hobby. Findmall was setup to take money from advertisers as a revenue stream while appearing as a legitimate Detecting Forum.
Findmall is a perpetual advertisement disguised as a forum. I used to visit there years ago but after having meaningful legitimate posts removed, harassment from moderators and account suspensions, I've found much better places to discuss our hobby without the unnecessary bovine scat.
I rarely visit there and only to read things but I no longer contribute.

Sad to see, don't know what is going on with Whites but sure hope they aren't in desperate straights financially.
Too bad the forum content is gone, a lot of the Whites faithful invested a lot of time sharing their knowledge on the mall.

A lot of the White's threads are still up over there under the Main Comparison Detecting Forum.

Champ makes a good point about when companies cut ad budgets but I think it's also possible Whites decision to drop sponsorship at Finds was primarily driven by how much traffic is down over there.

The White’s threads posted in past according to link above (although it doesn’t mention White’s by name) are still intact on the FM server.
Besides a person having a gpthread bookmarked, a person can infact do a google search with search topic in window followed by findmall.com in search window.
This will bring up mukitple threads for a person to choose it seems.

I have done and it works.

I did try and do the same with Nautilus but seems this data not available.

That forum is business to the owner. Simple as that. The Guv has little tolerance for BS. His way or the highway. I would love to know the number of people booted from that forum since he has owned it. I bet the number is impressive.

One of my biggest complaints over there! I can understand the idea of "don't advertise dealers who arent supporters" but they have long (and randomly enforced) "don't mention any company that isnt a supporter". ZAGG is a verboten word as are many others. It was once a banning offence to mention a certain coil maker. Maybe it still is, I cant keep up with all the no-no's there. OH, GUV reads PM's and bans people for bad-mouthing him or mods in private conversations.

I had a run in with a mod there. He actually lied to get me booted from the views forum. I liked to argue there. Now they have five posters that all agree. That has to be fun. Oh well. Sort of glad I can't argue there right now. I don't have many positive things to say about politics right now. But back to the subject.....I wish Whites success. I grew up on them.

Think there traffic volume has slowed, as once the Garrett At pro fourum there was very busy, now dead as a deserted ghost town.

The Nox hype kinda turned all metal detecting forums into Nox only forums.

Most die hard whites fans just went over to the whites forum

I am one of the findmall booted members and also booted from the depot forum. I do miss being able to view the classified section of findmall, lots of buying, selling & trading there.

It happened a month or so ago. No warning, just gone one day. I was a member there for a looong time. They did have a strict posting policy that got some of my posts deleted for no apparent reason, but somehow I never got banned. The scuttlebutt I've been hearing is that White's got tired of paying their extortion fee, and I don't blame them. At least that might mean that White's isn't in dire straights financially, just that they got tired of the B.S. of having to pay to have a named subforum. The biggest shame of the White's forums going away are all the great posts over many years that seem to now be lost forever (short of getting them from the NSA . A lot of White's guys hung out there, and their posts going poof is a real loss to the body of knowledge of our hobby.

Thanks tnsharpshooter. I tried the link and the search feature, and you *can* still search the old posts. You can't browse the old posts, but at least they are still there and come up when you search for them using findmall's built-in search tool. And it even looks like you can find posts using Google (enter the search terms plus "site:www.findmall.com" in the Google search box).

I won't ask what strings you had to pull at "the agency" to make that happen ...

Yes now You can't even comment on a Detector in Classifieds unless intrested in it. Things like this is a Good one or great price and all that. Kinda silly really.

white's was in the game for a long time but these new companies are really coming out with machines that we want. Minelab seems to have kept the ball rolling with their new detectors and they know how to bring a new product to market. It happens in business all of the time. It almost seems Fisher needs a jumpstart also. The Deus and the Nox 600, 800 are selling a lot of units. The real hunters that are looking for history in hunted out places demand more. Whites may have dropped the ball and are now paying the price.

Yeah, let's hope its the latter. I don't own a Whites but they have always made good stuff ime.

Hmmm, maybe this forum should start a Whites sub-forum? Although, I don't think Tom would agree. Tom wants to keep all posts in one main forum, I believe his thought is that 'segregation causes segregation' or 'discrimination causes discrimination'. I believe his thought is that if detectorists only go straight to the Whites section or Nautilus section or Tesoro section that they might miss out or not be exposed to other topics or discussions that they might be interested in viewing. Everybody can glance through the subjects, take notice of the author and make a decision of their own what to read. If this forum had numerous sub-forums, it would be far more difficult to 'glance' through them all. I've often thought that maybe having a 'classifieds' sub-forum might be beneficial, but where should the segregation stop? Hmmmm....

There's 2 that need to get the boot over there. I know there are lots of mods, but I couldn't even tell you who they were because they don't make dicks of themselves and thus the forum they represent. The "senile one" should NEVER have been there, but he was a plant for kellyco. He was made a mod immediately after joining, and has a very long history of banning people who report how KC screwed them, then he locked every bad KC thread and waited a week or so and deleted them so they could never come up in a google search. That was his entire job.
