XP lowers Deus pricing in USA

XP has adjusted pricing in the US. Most detectors and coils MAP lowered 20-25%.

ORX will now also be offered with X35 9" and 11" coils.

Some differentiating in 9" and 11" coil pricing both individually or detector packages.

example:

9" - $299
11" - $319
13" - $339

How many of you actually use the ORX and have formed an opinion about it ???
I followed the add and did find where it is sold for $649.00 ( XP ORX Wireless Metal Detector + FX-02 Headphones + 9" X35 search coil ))
I would like to try this detector out.
I keep getting cold feet because of that battery application.
Someone somewhere I read, said the battery is in the stem and not inside the X35 coil
Anyone who is in the know, PLEASE chime in and say a few words about this subject.
Thank you, Michael

The battery is in the coil on the X35 coils, it's in the lower rod on the HF coils. I don't see an issue with having the battery in the lower rod, if you had a spare and ran your battery dead, you could always swap out batteries.

I don't have a problem with battery in the stem.
I have a problem with battery in the COIL !!
I did not know the battery was inside the X35 coil
I THOUGHT it was Vise-Versa
The battery inside the coil is the reason I have never bought the Deus
Makes their coils crazy expensive and no way to repair it yourself
I don't see me having the cash to buy a new coil because battery life is limited
OR, the cost of repair due to the same

My bad, I misunderstood your concern. I just bought my Deus and haven't read about the battery in the coil being an issue yet. The coils are expensive no matter where they put the battery smiling smiley

Battery kits are freely available for the Deus and they are not that hard to fit

Hello Michael,

For what it's worth, I received my "Deus 1st version software", in January 2010 - it had 'a low capacity' coil battery but later in June / July 2010, a newer higher capacity battery was introduced giving an increased "57%" run time?
At that time battery life was 'estimated @ between 8.45 hours-13.45 hours (Of course dependent on Settings and Frequency - Low 4kHz could reduce it)

For 2018 / 2019 better battery capacity may have been introduced (I don't know?)

I first tested my "Deus", Thursday 28th January 2010 - I last used my Deus" , Sunday 14th July 2019

Same coil battery as the day I first received it, coincidentally the same day 'Apple' released their 'iPad'

It's been "flashing" away at me for years! I can honestly say I have never seen it not flashing!

Back in 2010 and beyond, I was not a fan of Deus and was busy entertaining other brands and our own of course (Minelab)
But these past 2 years I have put a lot of 'hours' on the Deus.

What did let me down was, the battery in the remote (control box): I sent it to a main dealer for a battery replacement and it was working when I sent it in (coil symbol would flash incessantly on charging so I figured it was giving up) but when I got it back it was not. Allegedly, there was "corrosion" on the board. Allegedly, XP "wouldn't touch it with corrosion present?"

That was very disappointing but I had been sent a new "WS4" headphone for it so I am still able to use it.

Moral of the story - keep your eye on the battery in the remote - the coil battery "should be fine?"

The batteries in the Deus are reliable....

I have had my Deus for about 41/2 years and still going. I hunt a lot, sometimes 2 times a day. When it showed half or lower battery I put it on the charger. I might need a battery before long, but not buying aaa batterys I saved money. I love my Deus, about hunted all my places and now thing about going back to my MXT to see if the Deus missed anything.

After reading your comments I will ask this
Who would or might be a good dealer to try to get a DEAL on a XP Deus with remote and the older 9 inch LF coil combo ??
A lot of pretty high prices and almost no offering of the Low Freq 9 inch coil.
Also, can the remote be purchased later if the lite package were purchased ???
I have no real use or need for the X35 HF coil
I like the sound of the older Low Freq coil

Michael, I don't think XP calls their x35 coils 'HF' coils...since they only go from 4k to 28k.
The one option you do have on the X35 you can't do on the LF is 4k power boost.
(...and they're lighter)

Good luck on the search,
smiling smiley

My X35 handles EMI better and it runs a lot smoother than my older lower frequency search coil did.
