Tough to dig Spanish coin in North Georgia

Its taken me 40 years to get 2 LOL!

As worn as these are I'm sure they were circulated till the 1850s.

One on left is Half Reale,, one on Right is 2 Reale.Both Carolus III (1759–1788)

The 1/2 came out of a pre civil war Doctors house site in some nasty nails it sounded like a nail too..The 2 R. came out of a ferry crossing on the River first house site where the ferryman lived overlooking river.

Spanish is hard to come by. Remember some of what I post I collect. Most I dig.

They have been hard to come by for me. After 47 years of swinging, I got my first one last Jan. A 1816 1/2 Reale. Those are Reale's Keith, hence they look great. HH jim tn

I found my 1st Reale this year. A 1 Reale a Carolus 111. Oldest silver coin I have found. Found with the Equinox

Years ago I had a Pillar Reale......not the same I know....LOL. It surprised me by finding a good sized musket ball on a trashy tin site. Found buckets of melted lead. Not so much of a hunted out site, just someplace one would want to give up on.

Don’t laugh. Here’s my Spanish. Took me 7.5 years to find. Only one with date-1784. All found in same general area. But over the course of the full 7.5 years. I still go back here to this area. Challenging area to hunt. Started detecting late Dec 2010. So the years are adding up now.
