ScoopJ - borrow an F75, T2 or G2. You will immediately know what a proper ergonomic design can do for the usefulness of a tool.

If I had a burrito for every post about sore or destroyed wrists, arms, shoulders, etc due to swinging ill-designed metal detectors I could open a food truck.

The third picture is most telling how I like the second strap to sit.
Full motion of my fingers and thumb. No need to grip the handle more than needed.
Attach the bungee to the strap and the detector becomes in essence weightless.

The difference is like carrying a bucket hanging by the bail handle as opposed to holding a side mounted handle.
I like the strap idea to hang the detector on.
