F75 rehab

Sold a nice 9 out of 10 condition F75 LTD to guy on ebay, put it in the mail, it didn't have to go far, the guy lives in PA like me. Well when he got it apparently it got caught in one of the USPS sorting machines and got totally mangled, the control head was completely broken off and just hanging by a wire, I had shipped it in the original box wrapped in brown paper and it looked like it had got caught in a tornado. Anyway I had to give the guy his money back because it wasn't insured. When I got it back I set it on my work bench and turned it on and low and behold it still fired up, so all I did was feed the wire back into the control head and I drilled a small hole into the handle and added some gorilla glue where it broke off and then held it together with a wood screw. Well it is working just fine now, I have used it a few times and it works just like it did before it was smashed, only thing is the backlight is a little blotchy. So it is a true testament on how well Fisher builds their machines I think.

Don't know about the F75 but
The CZ series detectors were built like a tank
And coil ears breaking "that didn't ever happen"

Actually you should never wrap a box in brown paper for shipping. The brown paper can get caught on the equipment, like yours did.
