Tesoromania

Last week bought the Diablo MMax - no coil - need coil - Saturday, bought Lobo Super Trac locally at good price with correct 10” DD coil.

This week, sold DMM with the correct 10” coil - issue - no coil for LST - problem,,,

Bought 8X11 4 pin coil on eBay yesterday

Today saw Cibola with GB and trigger mods with 2 coils (including 5.75 concentric) for sale at a good price - bought it.

Also today, bid on almost new 10” elliptical on eBay - got it.

Tired.

Will sort all this out later after watching Keith Southern videos on LST with GB adjustment and supertuned Cibola with GB mod - and after playing in the dirt.

Sometimes - tools ARE the treasure....

What First Texas units don't cut it anymore? Hooked on Tesoros? LOL

Sounds like "Texomania" to me.

It’s not my first bout of Tesoromania. 30 years ago I had a Golden Saber - then 5 - 6 years ago I had an original Lobo, Sidewinder, Compadre, Amigo and even a Maya.

This is a classic relapse. Likely as not, by this time next year they will all be gone to new homes.

I used the LST at our recent club planted hunt. There were many hundreds of US silver coins, Ikes, plus loads of buffalo and V nickels and Indian head pennies - and over a hundred prize tokens which got you a shot a tables full of prizes including more than 50 silver dollars. I tuned the LST’s discrim up to 9 and the power down a good bit. The targets were all shallow. With that setting, ferrous rejection was total with no squeaks, pops or wrap around, No nickels or pennies were heard, Dimes and above (including the quarter sixed bronze tokens) were cleanly detected. The hits were crisp and small - 2-3 swings nailed the exact location. Hit scrape with a manyfingered garden tool, pocket the coin and move on. On a couple of occasions, the person who planted the coins got cute and put two down very close to each other - no problem for the LST - bang, bang.

The LST will get the all metal GB adjusted per Keith Southern’s instructions and then played against the modded Cibola.

Play, learn, move on.

I predict that the Mojave will be highly sought after in coming years since it works so well, it's not that expensive and its production life was short. You just wait and see.

I forgot the Mojave. Nice machine - sort of an upgraded Compadre. Has one a few weeks ago for 3 days - bought on Saturday, resold on Tuesday at a tidy profit.

Sitting comfortably in a padded tote.
I have to finish a couple detector projects, one for myself and one mod for another person. Then I can give it my full attention.

We’ll see. And for those who think I have forgotten First Texas, I just ordered an F-19. Keith Southern currently rates it as tops in and iron bed - and I have a place to play with all of them.
