Hey Monte!

Good to see you on the forum, your articulated input & comments are always appreciated.

Glad to hear your feeling better.

Monte has proven himself to be a true ambassador of the hobby. I would rather hunt and not find a thing with him than find a cache with a few others.

Certainly is one of the most knowledgeable and helpful detectorists going !! always willing too help.

On each call Monte seys it all-----keep on keeping on Monte.

Ya Monte's my hero......most the time. Excepting those days we are out detecting together and he gets a nice old silver and a trade token and such. And all I have to show for the day is a chunk of busted up harmonica reed. On those days that he gives me a thrash'n I have to remind him. I say " Darn'it Monte there y'all go again, y'all crossed that line and it ain't fair".
And to rub some salt in the wound, he doesn't even offer me a participation trophy

Monte has selflessly contributed so much knowledge to this hobby over many years. He is one of the handful of people I consider a metal detecting "guru"

Can't say enough good things about Monte.

A true gentleman and inspiration to the hobby. Learned a lot from his posts.

Monte is a metal detecting Icon in my opinion, He has a wealth of information on many different detectors and I always search for his posts when I want know about them.

Monte is a first class fellow.

Monte has a gift of insights and knowledge of detecting past and present who is willing to share his expertise with and teach others.
He's been involved with many in the detector industry and has the inside scoop since the BFO days.
Not many like him around......................................

Monte is top shelf! He does such a great job explaining things and leaves nothing to doubt or wonder about. He would have been an outstanding writer for instruction manuals.

When I first got started, while doing my initial research on the hobby, I remember a post where Monte had stated that most of his finds had been found in the top 5" of soil, and how he (if I remember correctly) liked a the Bandido II Micro Max. So after a bit of studying and saving I bought a Bandido II Micro Max and a Clean Sweep coil and set out to see what I could find. Thinking the Clean Sweep wouldn't do much more than 5" of depth and being 18" long I had a good chance at cleaning out my local parks. The setup paid for itself in one month in gold rings and clad. I was hooked on the hobby ever since. And I'm glad I didn't run out to buy the deepest or the most expensive machine I could get my hands on at the time. But with sound advice from a veteran I was able to get a really good start. Thanks Mr. Monte!

You do know I am a bigger fellow because I have some health issues dont you. Liver problems... I can take your crap because I am thick skinned and can handle what I give out but some cant and YOU should be mindful of commenting on the next guy's appearance. BTW I might Jab people about detectors and stuff but not about their appearance.
