A few more test to wrap the series up...14 inch dime...

Thanks for the video, it's a lot of work and time to put these together...

Can't help it, being a stickler that is. The way you have the shovel positioned in the vid, the curve of the socket or collar adds a couple inches give or take. I get the gist of the video though, the new tec being the EQ is deeper than the past champion, the cz....... I'd be a sad boy if they didn't make advancements in detectors.
Calabash, Do you prefer the deus, ORX or the EQ for detecting coinage and or buttons?

At the beach, I found my Nox 600 to be deeper on small stuff than the CZ, but not as deep on decent sized rings. No video - it just happened.

I would of dug the 11.5" silver dime with the CZ-3D and You know why? Because soon as I got that little bit of high tone hit I would have backed off the target and pinpointed it. And as soon as the VCO was small and tight and the depth needle buried with that classic CZ VCO whine it does on deep coins at the edge of depth I would have known that was a deep keeper. Thats where knowing your Detector pays off.
PS the way that CZ-3D was giving the bell tone overload sound on that shallow nail proves it's a lemon as a 'Proper CZ' should never do that. Dave Johnson told Me that over the phone years ago as sent one of the Six I had in that did that the rest didn't. Yes I have talked with Him many times but never had lunch with Him though. Ha!

I prefer the Deus in the woods and thick iron. I prefer the Equinox in mid to moderate iron and open areas . Anfibio is a deep detector and it is also fast.

All I need is a little high tone and a tight pinpoint and 9 times outta' 10 thats a keeper with a 'Proper' CZ-3D Ole' Cal.
You just don't know that Detector Dude. You have to learn them analog bounces. It takes time My Friend.

CZ's were always bad about sounding off on deep rusty iron with a good tone. That was the one characteristic I hated about CZs. One thing I'll say though is that if all I had was a CZ, I'd still feel confident that I could find some good stuff.

I am gonna buy you a tshirt Harold that says CAPTAIN CZ3D …. I could just buy a modern detector that tells me to dig it so I dont have to know the secret code of the elite CZ3D users. LOL

Trash can hit in any ID or tone range depending on size, shape and conductivity. So the term 'chasing trash', if you think about it, is what we do sometimes.

Especially deeper targets where target ID becomes useless and the tones not as reliable. Agreed, if the unit can't even hit, than whats the point, but if there is a deep target that I can hear, in an area known for old stuff, I am digging it. I do chase deep targets that a lot of times have been trash.. Been surprised numerous times as well.

You won't know what that deep target is for sure unless you dig it up.

Even a deep low tone, but sometimes that low tone bounces or ID's an unusual number for a nail. Some times a person that knows the machine can hear and see what to dig from experience. Hard to understand when you just grab a machine to boost your opinion in your known target test garden.

I just got a Multi Kruzer WITH 3 coils including the Anfibio coil to find an advantage over my older detectors. Depth is not one of them for sure already. Separation in trash is the only thing I am testing now to see if I keep it. No way it wins on depth when you can't tell a deep target from chatter. Stop chatter and no depth. That's a honest test.
Re: 14 INCH DIME, NAIL TEST,CZ3D EQUINOX..
March 01, 2019 03:14AM
Chatter don't hurt you when you know the target is there already.

Hey Calabash, you should show us an example of Whites best offering....... MXT or MXT pro , it would be interesting!!! Thanks for the enlightening videos !! Keep them coming!! Which detector would you say has the best identification properties for someone who solely coinshoots.... Nox 800 ,XP ORX, or Anfibio?????

Sure appreciate the time and effort you put in doing these tests but hard to replicate an old buried coin that has been in the ground for 100 yrs or so.
The only sure way is to test in the field in an area where you know there is deep silver as experience is the best teacher..
As far as the shirt in question if you need my address just holler..

Dan,Dan, doesn't like CZ-3Ds. He is a regular CZ Man.
I always like 3D's best of all as love the way they increase the odds of digging 5 dollar gold pieces and older rare Indians by pushing them in the High tone zinc. range. And of course Buff and V Nicks also that will high tone nickel instead of foil or pull tab.

I'll repeat this...The way you measure to your shovel is inaccurate. Look at the position of the shovel with the socket/collar curving up...adds inches to your measurement. Use a straight piece of something that lays across the hole on top of the turf. Sorry, drives me nuts.....we'll keep you straight there, lad. lol
